Two ridiculously awesome bands that need more love around here. Giant Squid is one of my favorite bands ever, and Grayceon is fantastic as well, with their newest release All We Destroy being on of my top albums of  2011 so far. I put them together because they're both from the San Fransisco metal scene, share a member (Jackie Perez Gratz who plays cello and sings in both), and are basically 'sister bands' - they tour together a lot and support each other, etc.

Some songs:

Giant Squid - Throwing a Donner Party at Sea (Physeter catadon)

Giant Squid - Rubicon Wall (Acipenser transmontanus)

Grayceon - Shellmounds

Grayceon - Still the Desert

I listened to the most recent Grayceon album earlier in the year and I remember liking it a lot.  I'll have to get some more of this stuff.

The only gripe I remember having is that I wasn't wild about the vocals.  The instrumentation was awesome, though.  (especially the cello stuff)

All we Destroy is still my favorite album if the year I think.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

I'm so excited for Cenotes. The album art they just posted looks awesome.

Sigz, I was so close to her. All I had to do is reach out my hand and she could have been mine.

So this thread is pretty much just going to be for you and I.... Lets get naked.
