Computer help again

I really screwed up this time...I had an external drive that died awhile back...some of my programs are no longer working as it seems part of the folders but not all were moved to the external J drive ...when trying to remove these programs so as too download them again, the remove wizard keeps cancelling the operation as it says folder or drive J not accessable
Any ideas how to remove only the portion of a program that still resides on my C drive

Manually delete and edit the registry maybe? I'm not sure either, there is probably a easier way.
