What song do you think is getting a music video? Or do you even want one?

I predict that there will be no videos this time 'round due to budgeting constrictions.  Just a feeling.

I'm not a fan of music videos, especially in Progressive music. If they DO make one, I really hope its actually worth it.

It's dirt cheap to make a video and free to Youtube it so why not?  Even if it's something as basic as a "lyric" video (ie. A7X Nightmare) it's better than staring at a static image of the album cover.

They never have to worry about wasting money on something that will never make it onto MTV since everyone goes to Youtube now anyway.

More videos, please!

Do people actually like tour-footage music videos? If it had the quality of Live at Budokan, I could think it's pretty sweet. But if it's like Wither... come on.

Personally, I'd like to see a vid of the band playing, not some completely unrelated footage (hollow years anyone?). That would be cool. There's no need to spend millions to get it on MTV, because they don't really play music anymore. That leaves a bigger budget for the actual video, and it can go straight to Youtube for free. If there is a budget at all.

The good thing about that, they don't have to cut the length to fit the pop format.

I'd like a video recorded in studio during the recording sessions plus making off footage. Cheap and great for the fans. I love those videos.

I thought the video for A Rite of Passage was retarded.  I actually watched it the other night and I was thinking to myself, "I hope no one I know sees this because this is SO cheesy and lame."  Not bashing DT, just the video.

I think AROP was a decent music video. It actually looked moderate budget, especially all of the acted parts, and it had apocalyptic fun flakes. It wasn't amazing, but I think it was pretty good.

Since the OTBOA clip sounds like it's going to be a lot of live footage similar to Wither, I don't expect this one to be that good.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I don't really care much for music videos when it comes to DT, but they are a great promotional tool, and I'd really like to see a lot of people who aren't just Die Hard DT Fans, get interested and want to buy this album. So I say there should be one.

Music videos are a bad thing in my opinion. Perhaps this isn't the best example, but... Look at Metallica. For years they didn't make a music video. When they did, their career went downhill. Personally, I think a video for any song of ADTOE would lessen the song's integrity.

Then there's this: Portnoy was the one who creatively directed the band. You ever notice that? HE directed every dvd the band put out, HE was in charge of the video backdrop at their concerts... Personally I think MP was the one who wanted videos. I predict there won't be one for ADTOE.

But... I could be wrong.

Well you would be wrong, because JR's keyboard Tech(?) posted on his twitter that they were filming a music video at a concert.

Quite frankly, I enjoyed Wither's music video.

Say what you will about their musical direction, but their career certainly didn't suffer with Justice and The Black Album.

How can someone directing a video for a song that's already written lessen it's "integrity"?
