Strange Deja Vu is pretty easy.  Just Let Me Breathe isn't too hard.  6:00 isn't too bad either.

If you try to learn the solos they will be pretty difficult.

If you take a song and really work on it though and slow it down and take it piece by piece you can learn to play it.
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

what about Panic Attack?

You need to be quite fast to play that.

Repentance is quite easy, including the solo even, so is misunderstood and sacrificed sons. The first song I ever played along to was ITPOE pt.1   But that one is kinda tough though

Oh trust me, my alternate picking is quite good and my economy picking is probably above average, if I do say so myself

my sweeps are kind of crappy, though

War Inside my Head
The Mirror
Space Dye-Vest
Another Day
Surrounded
Wither
Forsaken
Prophets of War
These Walls

Not necessarily the easiest songs, but no Dream Theater song is plain easy.

Of the setlist in my DT tribute band, These Walls was the most straight-forward.

I remember these threads in the DT.net days, pre 8V. This list now hits on some more recent stuff.

Those mentioned fit in mostly. I will say that 6:00, JLMB, PMU, As I Am, the Mirror and  Panic Attack (!?!?!) Should not be considered easy. Easy parts? Sure. But the pre chorus solo riff in PMU easy? JLMB instrumental section? Panic Attack is FAR from easy. It may be easy for people here, but as a whole, these songs are a challenge. Not like TDOE or whatever, of course not. But playing 100% makes them not easy. Even in the easier songs, there are some different chords ("Regression")

Any dt single or mainstream oriented song is inherently easier.

Constant Motion was really easy for me to learn. It's a difficult song, but the patterns just came very naturally to me for whatever reason.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

On the Backs of Angels isn't that hard.  I'm not a guitarist but can play most of it, on bass it's good fun too.  :metal

It's easily the easiest instrumental of that sort.

For bass, most of the ballads are fairly manageable. Surrounded is a cakewalk, as is Another Day. I don't own a 4 or a 5 string so can't comment on post images stuff really but none of the other ballads have anything too challenging in there. Most of the faster newer material (especially after Rudess joined) is mad difficult. I'm working my way through images right now and so far the only things I can't handle (where 4 strings is enough) are the wait for sleep reprise in LtL (I can't find a fingering that works for this) and the last part of the metropolis solo section (the bit largely in 12/8) which is just batshit insane. Everything else is fine for me and i'm really not all that as a bassist.

Just so you know, once you do this, all the songs are easy; while easy IS a relative term, this advice kind of defeats the purpose of the thread.

How has no one mentioned Speak To Me, and Cover My Eyes.

Me and the band I was in played These Walls, but uped the key to C instead of A as we didn't want to downtune. Came out good and different.
I don't know how they can be so proud of winning with them odds. - Little Big Man

Peruvian Skies isn't too hard for a player of even moderate ability. It's one of the few DT songs I ever was able to play along with the cd...
—No, continued Aunt Kate, she wouldn't be said or led by anyone, slaving there in that choir night and day, night and day. Six o'clock on Christmas morning! And all for what?
—Well, isn't it for the honour of God, Aunt Kate? asked Mary Jane, twisting round on the piano-stool and smiling.
Aunt Kate turned fiercely on her niece and said:
—I know all about the honour of God, Mary Jane

Yes however, ytse jam was one of the first songs I tried to learn and the only thing I struggled with was the speed I never ran into parts of the song that I just couldnt figure out.

For guitar, the easiest songs is the ones Petrucci don't go into World Domination Mode in the solo(like In The Name Of God, This Dying Soul, Blind Faith...)  :tup

EDIT: i forgot to remove the "don't... :-\
