The Steve Miller Band
« on: August 07, 2011, 08:45:56 PM »
Alright, so I don't expect this to get a lot of traffic, being a prog forum where music that is short and simple often gets made fun of. However, I love this band. It is awesome party rock, and I really think that is what a lot of classic rock was about. Fly Like An Eagle and Book of Dreams are two of my favorite albums and to me, 2 of the best albums of the 70's. Short, sweet, rockin, and fun. Anybody dig these guys? I'm counting on you Fogey's.

Oh, and I'm seeing them tomorrow, which is why I made this thread.

I love the song "Swingtown" I've been trying to play the drum intro, almost got it.

I do enjoy Steve Miller's music

Not a big fan but do like most of their better known material. I've always liked this little ditty in particular:

Big fan of both albums you mentioned, lots of great songs and both albums aside from the radio hits as well

Saw him a few years back, still sings and plays great

Amazing show, make sure can sing every line on the Greatest Hits CD and you'll do ok.

The long version of Jet Airliner is a little proggy in the intro too....

Steve Miller Band = awesome.

Got to get down to Swingtown.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
