LOL
Now that Obama has closed Gitmo, when will he turn his attention to the abuses and torturing of the onions that are used to make the angry whopper?

I think the better question is, IF Jordan did leave and Kevin came back...

Could Kevin play all of Jordans parts?

Nope.

JR > KM

KM would play JR parts more tastefully and make them actually sound good.

Agreed. If we use the "can Player X play Player Y's parts?" logic, technical proficiency is the only criterion. Guess Michael Angelo Batio is the greatest guitarist of all time then.

*douses flame in kerosene*
Yeah, I have no idea what the cakeless person in that analogy is meant to be eating. If he's got some sort of cake substitute, it should really have been worked into the narrative at some point. As it stands, the options are:

  • Hoard a cake just to stare blankly into its doughy edifice.
  • Make futile chewing motions with your mouth while starving to death.

JR's parts already sound great. KM doesn't have a hope in hell. The guy's hands have probably seized up anyway from non-use.

Yep, it's a nice big flame now. Well done.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I already made this joke but everyone ignored it :(

Ignoring the post above, I think it would be no to both of those answers.

Do you think KM is embarrassed he was in DT the same way Kevin Bacon is about being in Friday The 13th?

I think Kev goes in a never ending circle of DT ness. I mean from what I've seen he really doesn't really want or like the fame. But by being in Dream Theater, and not wanting the fame being the reclusive guy in the band he got the fame. Soooo Kev kinda Deny's Dream Theater or that he was ever in Dream Theater, but by doing that he get's talked about more (like we're doing right now) and so on, and so on.

Sorry for the silly post (shit did I just use the word silly, (shit did I do it again). But I felt like being funny. (or at least attempting it)

But really I do enjoy Kevin's Music and his contributions to DT's Music, Space-Dye Vest is probably my favorite song besides Metropolis Pt. 1. He's a very talented guy so it's not to far fetched that we talk about him so much. Also I don't think that Mike had as much "Control" during Awake, like others have said I think that Kev's taste in music or what he wanted to do Music wise changed.

KM left because he didn't like the direction of the music.  He was getting more into electronic ambient stuff.  Have you listened to his solo stuff?  It's on the opposite side of the spectrum as DT.  And remember that Portnoy wasn't really the leader at this point in time, publicity-wise and songwriting-wise.

This sums it up.

Maybe the OP don't know about OSI but i think OSI is an example that MP and KM were not in hard bad terms, altho they (mp) do say there were difference between them in OSI. So..

1. No
2. No.

I think OSI was partly a chance for MP and KM to patch things up and find some common ground. Apparently it failed. I remember MP posting how he didn't enjoy recording with OSI and planned not to record with them again (although he then agreed to record drums for Free). Also, have you seen the making of OSI? Both of them looked like they couldn't be more distant from each other.

That and Raise The Knife shows me they're not really on the best of terms. However, concerning the OP's questions I still think:

1. No
2. No
