I like a good breakdown in the right context. I don't like Metalcore bands that use the same generic sounding breakdowns in every song. Eww.
Yeah, once you graduate high school, you need to listen to Death Metal like an adult.
Zook is right.
One of my favorite Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers songs. *Appreciates*

Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
https://youtu.be/X8kJlq09-uQThat song always sticks out to me, not just because of its breakdowns, of course.

Breakdowns can be excellent when done right. Unfortunately, one of the only bands who get it seems to be Sepultura before Max left.

Setra, I think that is the best statement I have read on this forum. Very well said.

I dig their grooves and breakdowns for sure, and Chris Adler is a beast, but I think they are far from "perfect" by any stretch of the imagination.
Dude, knock off the attitude.I'll have a mature discussion with you about Lamb of God if you want. But don't be an asshole because you don't agree with me.
That cowbell does not fit in at all.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsGC4yaIsj8 Kvelertak- Sultans of Satan, 2:35 for an awesome buildup to Cowbell over raunchy riffs. Not really a breakdown, but a pace changer thats nice.
