So according to the Texas Society of Perf Arts - the UT office that runs this venue - this show has somehow not been confirmed yet with the venue.

It's weird that dt.net shows this venue as confirmed.

I'm waiting, waiting to get my hands on a ticket, and I dont want to have drive to Houston and miss the sale opening today!

This show is now confirmed by UT Austin.  Tickets Fri. 8/12.

Thanks for the videos Lloyd2112DT, great job!
Great feedback from everyone, I'm getting more excited about my dates everyday.
Dates plural.  You going to a second show now?

I forgot to tell you? It's so dumb of me considering I plan to see you at both dates :lol
Yes my good sir. I'm going to see Dallas for the first time :)
I'm currently debating whether to get tickets for Houston too or get a M&G package for one of the two dates. I'm waiting to have a long phone conversation with my wife to ask her how fatal it would be financially to actually drive to all 3 dates. Gas and hotels..
But there's a 10 hours difference between me and her now so the call keeps getting postponed :/

Since they appear to be playing A & B setlists, a third show would be somewhat superfluous.  And since Dallas appears to be the last show on the tour,  that would be the better one to see over Houston,  I suspect.

Just 'bout ready to settle up a trip to Austin so that I can catch Set A, as it seems that will fall on this date.  Hope its not set B, or I'm about to spend a lot of $$$ for a show that I already saw in Los Angeles.

That's a rather ballsy roll of the dice.  It's a long way to the end of the tour, and given the natural tendency to play different sets in cities close together, they might well get off a couple of times between here and there.

Barto do you think we'll for sure get A & B for going to two consecutive shows?

No, but it certainly seems much more likely than going to two non consecutive shows.

The stars just aligned: only a two hour flight from LA, and much cheaper than east coast cities -- plus the venue is near the airport, and my hotel is next to venue.  Heard Austin is a fun city, so I'm curious to check it out.

I'm pumped!  Never been to Austin before.

Really need to make an emotional plea for setlist C, which has been getting some well-desrved extra rotation this tour.  I spent a lot of money to have the chance to see Beneath the Surface live.  So far, the 8 ball says chances are more than likely.

Hope my tour package ticket reveals a choice seat too!!!!

For those of you that like to have an adult beverage while enjoying an amazing show, it's my understanding that since it's a University building, they do not sell alcholic beverages at this venue.  Wouldn't bet my life on that, but heard that from a pretty reliable source.  Heading out of Dallas in an hour to go to Houston, then on to Austin and finishing up in Dallas again.  I'm so pumped.  Can't wait for this trip to start.

For the big, dramatic intro after the Tuvan throat singing and the Agnes Dies's,  Petrucci didn't have his guitar turned up,  so JMX hit's a solid, booming note and then nothing else happens,  they all look at each other for a split second,  then Petrucci sheepishly turns up his guitar and takes off with it.  Pretty funny.

I don't think that it was Petrucci. There is a white box that Maddi went over and switched that got him going. Not sure if it is an A/B box or what but I watched the entire ordeal unfold stage left.

I initially thought the distortion pedal was off cause he made a step before the sound came on but the first half of the show I was in a haze so I can't tell for sure. El Barto was right in front of the stage so your closest witness.

Petrucii cranked the volume knob on his guitar.  It was plain as day.  There might have been other people and other things happening,  but that absolutely occurred.
