Anyone traveling to the show from the high desert and interested in car pooling?

Hi guys and gals,

I've been out of the touring schedule loop and checked for tickets yesterday and the best I could do for 1 ticket is Row P in Orchestra. I didn't get it though.

I think I want to go, but surprisingly nobody else wants to. If anybody's got an extra ticket feel free to PM and I'd appreciate it!

Also, what are the chances of just showing up and good tickets coming available for sale? Thanks in advance

every concert I have ever been to has had people outside selling tickets that they are stuck with (and/or scalpers).  I would say your odds are good

also, I just remembered I am flying out of LAX the next AM so I booked a hotel at the airport.  if anyone from out of town needs a place to crash after the show, hollar at me.

Ticketmaster had a ticket row K Orch right in the center. I think this will do. I haven't been to a DT show in 6 years since seeing them at Jones Beach, Long Island on Gigantour. I can't miss this when I'll already be in Anaheim for a ball game. No excuses not to go. Very excite!!

Are there parking lots within walkable distance of the venue that charge less than the main parking?  I've never seen a show here before.

Not sure, but that's really not an area you want to be walking real far in  ;)  There are like 4 lots around the area, my guess is they are all gonna charge you about the same.  Maybe a lil cheaper at the outside ones.  My question is are there any restraunt/bars right there.

The "LA Live" area that the Nokia is in is fine, but yeah, agree that the surrounding area is not that great.  Here is a link to  the restaurants in LA Live  and info about each restaurant. Haven't been to any of these, but based on past visits to LA Live, ESPN Zone seems really popular.

Thank you so much for this!!!!   I'll try to text in the setlist tomorrow night.  Don't think I can do as great a job as Jamesman did tonight... (I'm a phone-net dummy.  If someone like cyberdrummer wants to PM me a cell, I can text the songs in happily :)

You never know... This is many years ago but I remember one time a friend and I drove up to the ticket office at the Universal Amphitheater to see if we could get tickets to Jethro Tull just a few hours before the show. People ahead of us were going away mumbling dissatisfaction and when we got to the counter we said we'd take whatever they had. I remember the ticket person asking if we were really truly big fans to which we replied yes (of course). I told her that I was at the show the night before and thought it was so good that I wanted my friend to see the show. To make a short story long, we got absolute front and center in the "orchestra pit" ... we used to joke that we could count Ian Andersons nose hairs from our seats.

So anyway, Like I said, you never know  ;).

EDIT: Got kind of nostalgic after reading my own post and dug out my ticket stub... it was Tues Dec 15 1987, Section: PIT, Row: AAA, Seat 3 (my friend got seat 1)... Time to scan all my old stubs. Some of them are fading fast :(.

I wasn't there. I had Fiery Winds text me, then I would update the thread from my computer at home. Yeah, I wouldn't have been in the thread if I was actually there. :lol

According to last night's show, someone said DT played from 9:15 to 11:15.

So:

Eastern:  updates start 12:15am
Central:  updates start 11:15pm
Mountain:  updates start 10:15pm

and so on....

Yeah, I don't see the set list changing much at all.  Maybe a different encore or a slight one or two song change here and there throughout the tour... but I think the set list will stay pretty much in tact for the most part.

Shows probably starting about now.

Seeing as they learned 3 hours of material total, I suspect they'll switch Outcry and Bridges as well as UAGM for LTL or Metropolis.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A.
