A lot is made out of OTDOA containing more of a classic flavor. That said, if it was released on Systematic Chaos or Black Clouds, where would it rank against the rest of the songs on those albums?

It would make both albums stronger. 3rd best from SC, behind Repentance and ITPOE. 4th best from BCSL, behind TCOT, ANTR, TBOT.

On SC I would put ITPOE and maybe TMOLS ahead of it

on BCSL I would put TCOT and maybe TBOT above it

All the ones above it are songs I really like and On The Backs Of Angels doesn't really come that close, to be honest. It's probably a bit higher than The Dark Eternal Night. Wither, The Best Of Times and A Rite Of Passage wouldn't be that far behind it (I'm not sure how I'd rank those ones to be honest, just that they're quite far below my top 3 of BC&SL which would all probably be in my top 20).

Since it is such an amazing song, it is tied for first along with all other songs on both of those albums that are not called Prophets of War, The Ministry Of Lost Souls, and The Best Of Times.
