It is strange, because I remember the 6DOIT tour, and one of the security guys was saying that if the crowd gets much bigger they were going to have to find somewhere bigger to play.
So is the neighborhood much better wherever Merriam is? Also, can anyone recommend a good place to eat close to there?

Man, between this and Opeth I'm really drawing the short end of the stick on concert dates.  I need to get out of SW Virginia NAO.

Dear Dream Theater,

Rest of the dates please.  Unless there aren't any in NC or SC or Atlanta, in which case James LaBrie you broke your promise to come back and I will hate you forever.

(loljk but srsly come back to Asheville)

-SDN

I hope they return to NC also. If they do, I hope they play more in the center of the state. Asheville is about 350 miles from me. Charlotte or Raleigh would be much better. That gap between Oct 12 and Oct 22 is where I'm expecting to see them. Hopefully in NC. If not, it will be Baltimore, Virginia or Georgia.

Raleigh would be perfect for me. I live in Durham and I would definitely be willing to make the drive to Asheville/Charlotte or even VA/SC, but Raleigh would be wonderful. I know that on JLB's solo tour he had Raleigh scheduled as one of his first stops. Unfortunately that tour never happened, I'm sure they can make it up to me somehow...  ;D

Hey, How about at DPAC? That is a great venue for a show. That is the Durham Performing Arts Center for those who do not live in NC. Has DT ever played in SC? Up until 2 years ago, they had never played in NC. I made the trip to Asheville to see them, but really hope I don't have to drive that far again. There is a very nice House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. Would be awesome if they made a stop there as that is only 1 hours drive from my home. Don't think that will happen as I don't see them coming east of I-95 in NC.

DPAC would be awesome. I recently went to a concert there (about 1 month ago) and I couldn't stop thinking how awesome it would be to have DT play there. Of course DPAC is also about 5 minutes from my house

Since it would appear that all major markets (except a few) are covered on this leg in North America, does that mean no second leg?

I would almost certainly expect a Denver show,  and that's when they'd hit Arizona.  My guess would be a few nights off after three straight nights in Tejas, followed by the SW stretch.

One thing that might screw that theory up is that they seem to avoiding GA venues.  The place they've booked here is 3x bigger than what they can sell, but fully seated,  and they passed over a couple of appropriately sized GA venues that they would have packed.  Seems like where they usually played in Den was a club.

There has to be a second leg, they are missing some crucial areas that draw very well for DT. Ohio always has a FANTASTIC draw whenever DT comes through.

I just can't wait to see them. I'm guessing the 2nd leg would be between March-May or so

You're welcome.

I also believe JP said that they would be coming around next year with a second European and American leg starting somewhere in the spring. I forget exactly where he said that, but it was some user-filed video of after a show.

Yeah a second leg seems likely. I'm hoping that they will be able to get the Carolinas/VA, since they don't seem to have them scheduled for this leg.

If they skip Phoenix/Arizona in general I will not be a happy fan. It will be the third straight tour that they have skipped the state.

This looks more likely every day unless they decide to add a few days onto the tour following the Texas, which is a better chance than what other areas have since you don't have to worry the difference between two dates.

Yeah I was looking at it again, and thats the only way they hit AZ or Colorado for that matter. I would consider going to Denver since I have extensive family there.

Indeed it is. I still cling to faint hope it will happen. Why wouldn't they play a successful regular stop on there tour?

I'm still hoping too man. If memory serves me right, they have announced the Wallingford day way later than the initial dates the last two tours. It just seems like there has to be with a four day break in the schedule when they are in this part of the country.
