Holy shit that setlist. It's a shame we will see a significantly cut down version for the Maiden shows however. I'm very curious what kind of setlist we are giong to be getting for that show.

EDIT: Oh man that Gotye cover was fucking cool.

DOUBLE EDIT: Okay, after hearing the (live) full band version of Sentry, I'm pretty confident this song might be one of the best things they've done in a while. Bring on the new album.

That was a good cover. And the new song sounded good, usual Coheed, can't wait to hear it's final version

I like it, but its below the other albums.  Of course, any rock band would kill to have an album of that quality, so....  Honestly besides the fact that it has the one Coheed song I can't listen to, its biggest flaw is the production.  Joe Barresi and Atticus Ross made it sound so noisy and industrial in a way that doesn't quiiiite fit them.

Agree about the sound. I still like it though, plus it has SDN's all time favorite song of all time!

Year is great, but as noted it has some major sound issues.

I'm with Matt on this one. Year is my least favorite Coheed album, but I still love it.

So the setlist last night was identical except for one song.  Apollo I replaced the Crowing.  I love both, but Apollo I/II were some of the first Coheed songs outside of Welcome Home and Ten Speed that I fell in love with.  DO WANT.

Regardless of what my song ranking was a year ago, my favorite Coheed song is now The Willing Well II.

As the Earth comes trembling down
Would you give her this last night
And give up your life?

Would you give her this last night

That's my favorite part of that entire album.  :metal It's right up there with the "Your father's dead, he passed in his sleep/pray for us all" section of The Light And The Glass and the "It's over/While you were sleeping, we were stealing your home." part of YoTBR.

Saw them again last night.  LOVED the setlist.  Deranged live was incredibly powerful.  Probably the biggest surprise of the night (in terms of songs that were really improved live).  The crowd went INSANE for the second half of the Crowing, so that was a great thing to be a part of, and the same thing happened for Devil in Jersey City.  The full band version of Sentry is amazing.  I'm officially pumped for the new album.  And the Gotye cover was great to hear.  It was a sold out show and the venue looked like it was violating every fire code in the state  :lol  It was great to watch Josh play, though he was kind of hidden away in the back (probably the intent so that he isn't the center of attention and feel really pressured or anything) and Zack was fun to watch live.  He had lots of energy and his backup vocals were good.  I miss watching Mic show off his chops, but I'm okay with it.

Nah, its a song they did for the Batman: Arkham City soundtrack.  Its Coheed playing a song about Batman and the Joker.  What's more awesome than that?
