Yeah seriously, good work. Those two albums are magical.

I don't think I'll ever forget the summer I really got into Coheed. I had finally decided that Welcome Home and The Suffering had got stuck enough into my head that I needed to just pick up Good Apollo vol. 1 and get it over with. In that single day, I listened to it from front to back 5 times. I was floored.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

I believe I got into Coheed around the same time you did, Alex.

And it was basically for the same reasons as you! :lol

Got around to listening to both albums once.

IMO, Good Apollo is much better.

Not that I disliked Silent Earth, I just really liked GA.

Holy god damn that was awesome.  Assuming this and Iron Fist will be indicative of the new album's quality I'm more excited for this album than anything else.  I had nothing but a smile on my face when I was listening to it.

Is Iron Fist supposed to appear on the new album? That would be killer to hear a non-live version.

I'm happy these guys are touring with Maiden. I get to see them, now I know their songs more and won't leave due to tiredness. Hoping for FFTTEOM

Fuckin' A!  On August 9th, 2012 Coheed and Maiden will descend upon the Irvine Meadows Ampitheater (or Verizon Wireless or whatever the fuck it's called these days) and I shall be there!  :metal :metal :metal

So in the last month or so I've fallen in love with Coheed and Cambria, and I really have you guys to thank for that, I've know about these guys for years and just never really tried them out but recently I've picked up The Second Stage Turbine Blade and In Keeping Secrets of the Silent Earth: 3 and have gotten hooked on both more so on 3. So thanks you guys if it had not been for this thread I would not have gotten into a great rock/prog band.

No dude, thank YOU for joining our Coheed club!  As you can see from this thread there's not a ton of fans around here, it's mainly just the same few cats posting in here.  It boggles my mind that more people on this board aren't in to this band.  What are you gonna do.  At least you're one among the fence now.   ;)

Was that too dorky?  Fuck it.

Well, I would've gone all out and called him a children of the fence, but you meant that anyway.

Absolutely fell in love with this band, I figured I'd pick up some of their stuff from HMV because I wanted to be familiar with their stuff for the Maiden concert this summer. I got GA 1 & 2 from there then downloaded the others, GA 1 & 2 are my favourites so far.

I really haven't really liked a new band this much since I found Dream Theater a few years back, they may not be as talented as Dream Theater, but man do they ever kick some serious ass.

July 26th come quicker! I'm almost more excited to see them than Maiden. It will be a rocking show  :metal

I've been really digging Backend of Forever lately.  I've been playing it on acoustic a lot and it's actually a Coheed tune that I can sing in my normal voice without going falsetto or just sounding like shit!  Gotta love the lyrics in that one too.  Awesome tune.

My friend gave me his old squier strat, so I've been dicking around with Wayne Andrews, as well as the lead parts of Backend of Forever and Blood Red Summer.  Fun times.

Just started listening to these guys again. For some reason I really only listen to them during the spring/summer; especially In Keeping Secrets. It just works really well on a warm sunny day for me.

For any Maiden fans out there, I just noticed something tonight. Listen to the opening riff of  Dickinson's Machine Men and let me know if it reminds you of anything.

For me it's Good Apollo 2. But that's because two years ago I binged that album a fuck ton during a kind of depressed period of my life. It combined with the coming in spring weather, kept my head up pretty high. Though all Coheed in this weather is awesome regardless.
