@Heretic: Thanks! As for your work, it's pixel art, right? I really find it amazing how intricate it is.

Here's a comic cover idea for my comic. I'm not totally set on it, but I do like the overall aesthetic.

I like it. The uneven circles throw me off, but maybe that's the point? Love the colours and style of it.

I finished drawing this one yesterday. Took me almost 24h to do. There's still a ton I could fix up, but it was for a weekly challenge, so I'm done with it now.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Been wanting to build something like this for about 7 years now and had enough spare parts to finally get it off the ground. I always wanted to build something obnoxiously overkill, and I'm liking the progress so far. Now that the my custom chassis finally arrived from a machinist in England, I've started wrench turning.

I'm pretty much building this from scratch and doing most of the design and engineering on the fly. Mounting the body is actually going to be a huge pain in the ass. I'm going to have to work some magic with polystyrene. I've never used the stuff before, so it should be a cool learning experience.

I'm still not sure what I want to do about paint. The wheels are going to stay black, so I'm thinking maybe a fire engine red for the cab. I'd love to do some gold leaf work, but I worry it will make the thing look too busy.

Thoughts?

So once again this year I've been doing Inktober. Here are my entries for the first week.

Day 01: Sneaky
Beware of the sneaky creatures lurking around when you sleep.

Day 02: Chance
Sometimes it's better to quit even if your chance of winning is high.

Day 03: Half
It's usually better to have a full head than only half.

Day 04: Doctor
Patient: ''Doctor, I'm not feeling too well.''
Doctor: ''What is wrong?''
Patient:''Um... you.''

Day 05: Jar
Is it alright if I take a cookie? Oh, ''this'' is your cookie jar. On second thought I think I'll pass. Cookies aren't even that good anyway... yeah...

Day 06: Spill

Day 07: Ragged

Those are the best inktober drawings I've seen so far, so awesome dude! Love the monster in Sneaky, he actually looks kind of cute.

My parents gave me a drawing pad for my birthday, and must say drawing digitally is way more fun than I originally thought it would be. I thought I'd miss the feel of a brush, but all the extra options you get in return are awesome. Here's my first finished piece:

Thank you very much home! Although I would personnally disagree as I saw a lot of enries that I'd consider much better, hearing that means a lot.  :)

And I really like your digital piece. It came out really well, but man, that poor little bird plushie. What did it do to deserve this  :-\ But more seriously, I know a lot of people seem to strugle when making the transition from traditional medias to digital so it's cool to see that transition was seemless for you. Great job!

Inktober week 2

Day 08: Cover

Day 09: Kiss

Day 10: Tasty
There's nothing better for your health than a juicy, tasty apple oozing a weird dark liquid when you take a bite out of it.

Day 11: Smash
This one turned out a bit more... let's say brutal than what I anticipated. I'm not totally sure how I feel about it...

Day 12: Slimmy
Hey, you have a little something on your face. Just thought I'd let you know.

Day 13: Thick
It's hard to tell if someone is a friend or foe through a thick layer of smoke and debris.

Day 14: Skinny

It's almost done! Just a bit more than a week left  :omg:

Day 15: Hook

Day 16: Strenght
Hey! Look at me! I'm so strong that I can lift myself up with only a single hand...

Day 17: Elixir

Day 18: Book
You know when a book is so well written it feels like the story comes alive. Well, sometimes it literally does.

Day 19: Empty
Is an empty room ever truly empty?

Day 20: Duel

Day 21: Smile
The most beautiful smile you'll ever see!

Day 22: Ring
Want to show your lover how much you love them? Give them this ring, they'll never want to take it off!

Day 23: Giant
Just a giant winged dude in a forest. Nothing to see here...

First of all, happy new year everyone!

So one of my friend got me into sculpting late last year and I did this little guy with paper mache and paper clay. You can see some of the process here: https://www.deviantart.com/cdrice/journal/Sculpting-process-Grbld-773321173 and the final result below.

We've also started to work on a collaboration. She drew me a character that I'll sculpt and I drew her one that she'll sculpt.

Here's the one I drew for her

And the one she drew for me

We've both started to work on our sculptures and she showed me some of her progress. It already looks so nice. I can't wait to see how they'll both look once finished. Here's where I'm at right now.

Glad to see you're still keeping the thread alive, CDrice! Awesome stuff you've posted in the meantime-- I'm a huge fan of that character design!

I've been away for quite some time due to graduate studies and the fact that my girlfriend and I moved, but here's a piece that I finished in December-- it's been one of my biggest hits on Twitter and other various sites! Hope you guys like it.

Holy shit. You guys are so fuckin talented! I love everything I've seen so far. It's times like this where I feel really honored to be part of this community.   :metal

Not to keep posting this all around the forum, but I released a concept album a little over a week ago. I'm really proud of it. I obviously don't need to tell you guys that it's best listened to in its entirety due to the story, reoccurring themes/melodies/lyrics/etc. I really think a lot of you guys would like if you actually gave it a fair shot.

Thanks! I try my best to post my stuff here whenever I have new work to show. I really like that last piece you've posted by the way. It's really amazing and the atmosphere is really nice.

I've recently purchased a new and much larger 3D printer, and have been getting better at 3D modelling. I've been putting together this project for about 6 months now in my free time, and I managed to design and print out the bed this weekend.

I wish I could draw and paint like you guys, but this is how I express my creative side.

I'm at the fun part of the build now, the cosmetics. I'll be 3D printing everything. I've been going back and fourth with a few themes. I want it to be unique, but at the same time I want it to be grounded in reality. I'm thinking it's a vehicle from maybe a few decades in the future that's tasked with going around and rounding up a bunch of rogue AI robots that have started to challenge humanity (think iRobot).

The plan is to have a bunch of captive bots in cages, and a bunch of other ones shot to hell and smashed apart piled up in a bin (this may also double as the battery compartment). These are most likely going to be the robots I go with, and they'll all be different colors. I may or may not incorporate a crane/hoist (non-functioning) that'd be used to get the cages onto the bed.

That's pretty freaking cool Brian  :tup   I kind of dig that metallic look of the Blue/Gold robot....a couple cool complimentary metallic colors could be a cool color scheme....with chrome as highlights? Just spit balling ideas.....

Thanks!

Final color scheme is undecided as of right now. One thing I know I want to do is black out, or at least partially black out, anything that is typically chrome on a big rig.

Something akin to this maybe:

Hey, thanks! Not necessarily a story, but my work tends to have a basis in a number of themes, mainly fantasy/dark fantasy, adventure, escapism, and the concept of the sublime. My oil painting work (and my graduate thesis) all revolve around these concepts as well. So, in a way I'm glad you asked that, because it means that they do evoke similar feelings, which is definitely my aim!

Been working on my portfolio website, was wondering what you all might think of it. Here's the link:

https://www.arferguson.com/

The About Me + CV sections are still WIP from my undergrad days, they need to be updated dramatically, but the gallery and the homepage are otherwise complete. Let me know your thoughts (if anyone actually decides to look at this topic :D).
