Photoshop request... please can someone help me
« on: July 24, 2011, 12:56:59 PM »
Hey all,

I have a question.

My girlfriends horse died a few weeks ago from a torn artery (hope i translated it good). It was a real sudden dead... because she died in less then 15 minutes... my girlfriend was with her when she died.

Now she wants to have her picture on the wall. But the problem is... we dont have a great picture from only the horse... now we thought that maybe one of the pictures can be photoshoped to make it a great picture for on the wall.

Below i have a photo its the best one we have we think. But on this photo there is a good friend of us next to the horse.

I am realy not good in photoshop and I know their are some members here that do a really great job with it.

What we want is the photo below, but then without the friend (hope someone can photoshop her out of the picture) and the iron chain has to be out of the picture... and the reins and bridle can stay on it.

And for the rest i think it would be nice to have some beautifull light on the picture.... but i think you guys know what to do with it to make it beatifull.....

Remember that the photo is going to be printed on poster size. And it has to hang on a wall to remember our lost horse.

Hope someone can help me (my girlfriend) with this.

Here is the photo... if its beter i can always email the photo to anyone.

Ok, give me the best quality picture you have.
This is where Photoshop CS5 'Content Aware Fill' comes in.  ;D
I will pm you in a few minutes.

Keep in mind, it won't look good poster-size because of its current resolution.
Listen! Do you smell something?

hey steve, if you can get another photo of the horse with the front showing you can do a quick mask.  kind of a two to make one sort of deal.

Too bad the subject is so sad. A lot of hilarity could have ensued with this request.

Like, photoshopping out the horse and then replying "wait, you said only wanted to see the horse in the picture, right?"

I drew the background from scratch and then oil painted it to mask how terrible it looked.

Can you get a photo of the horse with nothing in front of it?  This is a nice shot but she's blocking part of the horse so removing her doesn't work.  Do you also have anything higher resolution cuz this won't look good in any form other than on a monitor.

Guys, if he had a picture with the horse and nothing in front, I don't think he would ask DTF for a photoshop request. Just a hint, you know.

This photo is made with a digital SLR camara... so the resolution must be enough for a small poster

and like Rumborak says... i dont have a picture from only the horse shot at the same angle

In order for that to be made into a poster of any decent size, you're going to have to get a version of that picture that is much, much, much bigger....else it will just be ultra pixellated.

799px × 535px

The poster would look like a mosaic.

Yeah, the picture would have to be at the very least twice that size to make a small poster.....by small i mean like a 30cm square....and that really wouldn't look to good.

You need to post the full-resolution jpg (or raw) onto Photobucket or something.  This one here will NOT be able to be made into a poster.  I have an idea to help but you'll have to make the full-resolution version available.

I don't speak Dutch(I'm assuming the words are Dutch since your location is Netherlands) so would you mind telling us what the message on the poster says in English?

Thanks guys, glad you and your gf liked it.
You should print on a canvas... there are donzen of printshops (zelfs de HEMA https://wanddecoratie.hema.nl/) where you can upload your picture and let it print on canvas.
