Need some vocal help
« on: July 22, 2011, 05:19:58 PM »
I've recently been hitting my upper register better than I ever have before, except for one thing. I have trouble hitting my high notes in my natural voice when the lyrics have the hard e sound. For some reason, I just can't belt that vowel sound out. Anything I can do about it?

i suggest you look for a few vocal lessons. i'm not a vocalist and i've chosen to take some vocal lessons and do the group warm ups with the vocalists in my class, it's optional in my course if you're not a vocalist, and that's really helped. maybe you have already seen a teacher.

Push from your diaphragm it should feel like your abs are tensed up if you are doing it correctly, no matter how loud or long a note is you should use all of your air.

Im not a singer, I play alto sax however i have been taught by many instructors to apply this concept to any wind instrument or singing.
