I wasn't going to contribute but it's so sadistically funny I have to at least make an attempt:

Even though there was a lot of drinking at this party, only the parents got hammered.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

The obvious solution would be to smash glaurung's face in, via hammer, and then proceed to host a party for us fellow forum-ers.

The kid is a psychopath, pretty much textbook definition.  He wants something, he figures out how to get it, he does it.  No consideration for how others are affected.  He wants to have the party, his parents object, he gets rid of them.  Problem solved.

One of my friends is a cop, and he told me about a "test" they have, basically to see if you're a psycopath or have the potential to be one:

A man's sister dies.  At the funeral, he meets a woman and they end up talking for a while.  Afterwards, people are leaving and he tries to find the woman, but he doesn't see her, and realizes that he never found out her name.  He asks around, but no one can tell him who she was.  So he kills his brother.

Why?

Maybe he found out his brother was sleeping with her the whole time while he was out gambling.

Because it stands to reason that if this woman were at his mother's funeral, she may also know his brother and show up for that funeral.

Err, I mean... No reason.
HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!  THIS is why LHK is the President of Awesome.

Why is everything you post the best thing ever said?  :lol

LHK is beyond EPIC.

I don't know, I've seen this test before and I thought I remembered that being the answer.

Well, ultimately he kills his brother because he wants to see the woman again, but the idea is to understand his thought process.  How will killing his brother lead to seeing this woman again?

And LHK has it.  If the woman was at the sister's funeral, then she is probably a friend of the family.  He figures there's a good chance that she will also attend his brother's funeral.

I don't think this has anything to do with "state of society" or whatever. If you are able to kill your parents and throw a party afterwards, that is a clinical psychopath. The rules of society don't apply to him anyway.

I'm betting that had his parents been doing their jobs, he'd of been in an intuition, where he belongs for years, now.
