Boot Camp and things of that nature (Mac experts)
« on: July 21, 2011, 04:44:25 AM »
Is it a pretty safe process, the download, install and partition?  Because it's telling me to back up my hard drive before proceeding and I don't have an external device onto which I can back things up in case things go awry.  I guess I want to know whether all hell can indeed break loose if something goes wrong.  Also is there anything else I should know going into this?

I have done it a few times. I have W7 on my boot camp in case i ever need it for anything school related basically. Always back up your HD whenever you are doing anything like that. just incase...

Make sure you read Apple's instructions. You want to make sure when you are in the Windows installation process that you format the drive correctly. Also if you are using W7 have at least a 15 gb partition. I think i am using 20 at the moment for it.
