I think the ending was fantastic. After the episode I went to that screenbid site to see if Walter Whites tag heuer was for sale. Sadly, it's not. Probably still sitting there on the pay phone.

Terrific ending to one of the best shows i've seen! Thank you Breaking Bad!  :tup

What is that reflection where his hand was? It almost looks like Walt back when he was bald :metal

Yeah, I thought it was about as perfect a finale as I could have hoped for.

Exactly! Totally awesome.  I didn't catch it the first time, his reflection in the tank; I only noticed his hand and the trail of blood on the tank when his hand moved away from it.  But the second time, I saw his reflection and was like HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! :lol :lol

We still don't know whether or not his cancer actually came back, seeing as it was a bullet wound that did him in.

Right, but for like a split second there, he's at an angle where he resembles his Heisenberg look.  If only for a moment.

So many great moments from last night alone, but what about when Walt asked Skyler to see Holly one last time?  That was absolutely heartbreaking, him seeing his daughter and knowing it would be the last time he would ever see her.  Same with when he spied on Flynn coming home.  It's a testament to the awesome writing and the off-the-charts acting of Bryan Cranston that you could still feel empathy for Walter White during those moments.

I disagree. He's done a lot of bad shit but we as viewers have come to know him too well over the years, to not feel bad for him. It doesn't take off-the-charts writing to pull that off. Have you seen "Festen" by chance?

My only disappointment was that I really wanted to know what exactly went down between Walt and Gretchen and why he left the company. After last week's episode I was positive it would be revealed...

It's never revealed, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that they were a couple and something happened between them and she got with Elliot. Walter, not bearing watching them together because of guilt or whatever left the company.

I think it really is that simple, Dimitri. People seem to expect that there's something big that went down, some kind of betrayal. I think Walt's ego got in the way, as it did in so many other aspects of his life, and he eventually left due to tension between her and Walt and Elliot.

Funny photos, but I really thought that they portrayed this person at the end as the true Walter White...someone who's whole, not some fractured personality. It was sad and great all at once because he was clearly happy with the ending, but still deserved every bit...I feel more bad for Walt Jr. I'm still in the 'fuck Skylar' mindset, despite her not being nearly as annoying this season as she was in the past.

But I'm about to watch it a second time so... :corn :'( :'(

BUT, it could be possible he died from the cancer, and that the wound was not as bad as implied

He might not have had cancer, and the bullet wound could have just been one of those blood bags. He faked everything and just played dead when the cops came in.

Walt Jr. never had Cerebral Palsy, and it was just a sham to garner pity for his mother when she goes to trial

I've seen a few people griping about it, as with every other BB song choice, I really liked it!

Also, about the name of the finale, I read someone posted some reasoning behind it (I think it was Ian) and while Gilligan has said once or twice that an anagram of finale I read this very interesting thing today:

Joe and I in the same squad is basically the virtual equivalent of us plowing a rape van through an elementary school playground at recess.

My take on this last episode: a fitting ending to the series. And what a great series it has been. Just got better and better as it went on IMO.

lyrics to the last song in the series (baby blue by badfinger):

Guess I got what I deserve
Kept you waiting there, too long my love
All that time, without a word
Didn't know you'd think, that I'd forget, or I'd regret
The special love I have for you, my Baby Blue

All the days became so long
Did you really think, I'd do you wrong
Dixie, when I let you go
Thought you'd realize, that I would know, I would show
The special love I have for you, my Baby Blue

What can I do, what can I say
Except that I want you by my side
How can I show, you, show me a way
Don't you know, the times I tried
Guess that's all I have to say
Except the feeling just gets stronger, everyday
Just one thing, before I go

Take good care, baby, let me know, let it grow
The special love, you have for me, my Dixie dear

Is it just me or does anyone find the final shot of Walt dying on the floor absolutely crushing?  Don't get me wrong, it was the perfect ending, and I wouldn't have wanted it to end any other way, but just that shot of him dying as the camera zooms out (or whatever :lol) just crushes me every time I watch it.  It's like, it is so heartbreaking, but I can't help but wanna see it again. I've probably watched the final two minutes 10 times in the last 24 hours and it destroys me every time. :|

I was sort of meh on the episode.  Felt kind of like filling in the blanks.  Enjoyable, but perfunctory and functional.

I for one am completely happy with the final episode, and thought they did the right thing by finishing it off on Season 5. Anything more than that would be overkill and implausible. The way it ended was perfect, with the final episode neither dragging not rushing to tell us each character´s demise. Walt got what he deserved, and the authors left us just the right amount of dots to connect at the end. We know he ended on a sad note, but did he survive prison, or was he dead on the scene? It could be that he was hospitalized and later sent to jail, or maybe he went to the hospital and succumbed to cancer...all we know is that it ended badly for him.
