I don't see that.  Saul is who he is, a criminal lawyer, and making him a bigger part of the story would seem a bit far-fetched.

I agree. He has a role, and he's played it very well. Nothing more, nothing less.

But who knows what will happen.

It is funny rewatching the series, the hindsight is interesting. I am rewatching season 2, and the scene where Walt is on the couch with Skyler, and he keeps asking her what is wropng etc. He seems so vulnerable, then I just think of what he eventually becomes and I actually laugh.

Yeah! Seeing what he's become from where season 5 left us, it's incredible to remember that this series started with Walter on his underwear apologizing into a camera to his family. :lol

My parents both hate the character of Walt and think he's a terrible person; my friend and I think he is a great character and a certifiable badass (we're all on Season 3). Although he lacks some morality, I don't think he's devoid of emotion... where did you all stand on Walt's character at this point in the series?

I find him extremely fascinating, you'll see it the farther you get along, but how he changes as a person is incredible, Jesse as well. I like Walt, all the while though I'm scared of what he's willing to do.

I kept telling myself that I'd just wait 'til Season 5 is over and I'll buy it/Netflix it and watch it all at once (just like I did for the first four seasons)...But I am so tempted to stay in and watch tonight. Ugh!

My current stand on Walter is predicated on events you haven't seen yet, but I'm no longer on his side and I'm honestly watching to see his demise.

It would've been a little better if they had just cut to the "Created by Vince Gilligan" as soon as the garage door closed.

So I had only seen up to season 2 until this weekend. I marathoned 3-5 on friday-saturday (34 episodes in 36 hours, boosh), and am now fully caught up.

God damn.

He is a great character AND a terrible person.

Anyway, great episode tonight.  The last five minutes was way too awesome.  I love that they didn't dick around with it; they got right to it with the Hank and Walt confrontation.  "Tread lightly."  Awesome. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

But what about the cold opening?  Why does Walt nine months later come home back for the ricin?  And why is their house which is now closed off?  So many great questions.  I am sure it will be awesome as it we get the answers. :tup :tup

The ricin bit has me flumoxed. Also a bit surprised that the cancer has reappeared. Makes sense, I suppose, but I also don't see that being the death of Walt. After all of this, it would be a bit anticlimactic for the cancer to kill him. Fitting perhaps, but anticlimactic nonetheless.

I think Walt will go out in a blaze of glory and the ricin is for him. Wants to make sure he doesn't want to survive whatever he is about to do.

Well he made it a while ago and has thought about using it on different people. It would just seem fitting that he eventually uses it on himself.
