So how many songs did James write the lyrics to?  That's the real question.

Well as far as we know there's only 4 more songs with unknown lyricists.  So he could have written anything between 0 and 4 songs.   Take your pick:

3.   "Lost Not Forgotten"
4.   "This is the Life"
6.   "Outcry"
7.   "Far from Heaven"

Do we know for sure that JLB wrote at least one song?  I don't think its ever been confirmed, only speculated.  My bet is on Outcry.

I think it has been confirmed he wrote lyrics.  In a perfect world, all the rest of these would be JLB lyrics.  Imagine that, he has never contributed more than two lyrics on an album (6DOIT and 8V).  I guess I would settle for 3.

Lost Not Forgotten, This is the Life, and Outcry really have a JLB vibe to the title.  Even Far From Heaven kind of has that vibe but I could see that being a JP lyric.

Well, in a perfect wrold, they'd all be JM lyrics.
No.  In a perfect world, they'd all be MM lyrics.
I dunno, in a perfect world I'd love for them all to be Johnny Myung lyrics.
I would prefer an album of Kevvie Moore lyrics, or even just a guest song, featuring him, a la Elton John.  Or maybe even better, a KM/JM duet.  Penned by Derek.

I agree. Kevvie Moore is such a perfect lyricist.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

So the August 1st press release confirms the title change of track five.

Have we confirmed any reasons why yet?

Scroll down past the tour dates and there's a tracklisting, and it includes Bridges in the Sky as track 5.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

Yeah, CJS confirmed it for us, via Twitter, a couple weeks ago when pre-orders for ADTOE turned up on various websites, then on RR's own store.

It was changed based on the lyrics.

Anyone know if JP has stated where he got inspiration for the song?

Did he actual have a psychedelic experience, or is he just talking about it from a point of interest?

I love this song. Don't play much else off the album (really enjoy Beneath The Surface) but this is a cracker.

I don't know, but JP doesn't strike me as a person who would partake in the sort of powerful plant medicines the song may be hinting at. My guess is that he'd gotten aware of the booming global interest in psychedelic ceremonies at the time, did some research and wrote the lyrics based on that.

Our debut album "Eläimys" is a trip I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone into Pain of Salvation, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Magma etc.

Yeah, I also doubt he did it himself. But since the song is so spot on to what I experienced, I was curious.

But now this song has a whole new level of appreciation for me. The lyrics resonate far more deeply.
