Yeah, the SATs are scaring the shit out of me. I'm shooting for a 2200, which is pretty damn hard to get.

That's what I'm shooting for, too, I guess.  If it's high enough to get into a real college, yes.

Hey, Jamesman.  So, since you're getting outta college, and often talk about being a teacher, I'm guessing that's going to be your profession.  The question though, is what subject are ya teachin?

High school math, and yeah, this will be a career for me at least for a while, though I want to get my Master's in math.

I want to get my PhD. It is one of my life goals. Get your PhD in Number Theory. It's the most mysterious and philosophical without actually being a part pf philosophy. Dr. Jamesman, professor at MIT. Sounds kinda good, dudn'it?

Wow, that's going to be a heavy load, right there, numbers.

I'm glad not to be taking AP English or History, as my friends who were in those became hollow shells of themselves as a result of taking them.

I'm assuming that you are not in any electives.  Unless art history is one.

Get your PhD in Number Theory.

Whoa! That was the very first thing I talked to my professor about getting my PhD in. I seriously need some training in NT though. The one class I had barely scratched the surface.

18, feeling pretty damn grown up at times, being scared of feeling pretty damn grown up.

I know I'm not, though. I barely know how to wash my clothes. (And in protest, I'll never learn. :hat)

So, random question but can anyone recommend books for my English Literature course next year? The theme is the search for modern identity.

Well, at the time of my AA, it was Indian River Community College (cheap as hell and close by, plus it was just a general AA so what does it matter? heh). My Bachelor's at the same college, but it has been renamed to Indian River State College to reflect that they started having Bachelor's degrees.

My college, for being a mostly community college, has some cool things. Last year, for the state of FL, it churned out more math teachers than any other college. It's also ranked 3rd in the country for costs and is up there for technology as well (I maybe misremembering, but they may have been first actually, I dunno).

Still, I can get into FIT or FAU easily because I know math profs who went to either school and will help me get in. It looks good on them to get me in and graduated and they can get me a job teaching college level math.

A lot of colleges are basing acceptance less and less by your SAT score's. Well, around me anyways.

I have other sources on that, but none with number theory. I'll definitely check it out though! :D Thanks.

Hey I'm wondering for my senior year I wan't to take AP Psychology but in order to I have to eliminate either accounting or spanish (the two electives I can afford to eliminate I think). Anyway the problem is I have little interest in pursuing psychology as a profession considering that I hear the job variety is extremely limited and takes many college years. I really just want to learn it for my own benefit simply because it interests me. The problem is, is that accounting is something I want to go into and I don't know if it would be good to eliminate. I also would have a tough time eliminating spanish considering many colleges and business's I've been told really want four years of a foreign language. I dunno just wondering what you guys would recommend.

I would not eliminate Spanish. If you dig Psychology, I'd take it because if you go to school for accounting, you learn all the shit you will need there. If I want to be a history major, all my history classes that I've taken from middle school all the way up through high school mean nothing.

Yeah I see what you mean

Well I'd have two years of accounting under my belt anyway going into college if I eliminate it, so it might not be that bad to skip for senior year.
