Give me some good electronic music
« on: July 17, 2011, 05:36:07 PM »
I'd love to have some real good electronic music

I love Ulver to death and my favorite Radiohead album is Kid A, by far, and I also love Amnesiac

Also, I just downloaded Midnight in Alaska, will listen to it as soon as I get the chance

Halp!

Check out Stateless - Matilda from this year.
If you like Radiohead, you might like them. ;)

Sweet Trip
Björk

Good ones.

Also, you should check out Ulver. Not all of their stuff is electro but it's probably the best band that'll come up in this thread.

EDIT: Haha I just noticed that you mentioned Ulver in the OP. :P Carry on!

I can't believe no-one has mentioned Aphex Twin. I think you'd most definitely like him based on the OP.

Well, the genre more revolves around singles and remixes, so you don't really have many artists that release large amounts of material. A few of my favorites though:

Andy Moor & Adam White - The White Room

Giuseppe Ottavani - Angel (Mark Eteson & Ben Nicky remix)

M.I.K.E - Salvation (Plastic Boy remix)

Alright, mister Q, here's one more that's been really consuming my attention recently.  Try James Blake if you're feeling up to it.  Really minimal, reserved electronic soul-tingled, pop-oriented stuff with a strong emphasis on vocals.

Here's a little sample of him, it's from his new self-titled, which is what I'd recommend getting if you're interested enough.  https://grooveshark.com/#/s/The+Wilhelm+Scream/3DlUUH?src=5

Underworld. I recommend specifically A Hundred Days Off
When Ginobili gets hot, I get hot in my pants.

What the fuck...?

You know it's awesome.
It's like playing Mega-Man backwards in order to summon Satan.

That's the only way I know to describe it...

edIT - Crying Over Pros for No Reason. Glitchy music with Hip Hop-ish beats.

Yasume - Where We're From the Birds Sing a Pretty Song. Similar to edIT, but Glitchier and less HipHop-ish.

Xenomorph - Demagoguery of The Obscurants. Trance (Dark Psytrance, according to last.fm), great album.
