Of all the AA suite, the only section I like less than Repentance is TROAE. TROAE always came off as some sort of rushed hybrid of the first two parts of the suite to me; of all the parts, it's the only one that feels perfunctory, as if the band almost approached it as "right, let's get this over with." That's probably just my impression of it, but there you have it. Repentance's primary flaw is it is far too long, with a second half that could lose 90 seconds and still get the same point across. It also doesn't help that it sounds more like Opeth than Dream Theater, which doesn't help when its on a CD that features the band doing yet another Muse impersonation. Repentance is the closest thing to self-indulgent in the entire suite IMO.
