Who else is going to the midnight showing?!  I'm going with a few friends for the double feature (Part 1 at 9pm and Part 2 at 12am).   :caffeine:  <--- me excited from the movie and hyped up on caffeine so I don't fall asleep between two long work/school days.

I'm probably going to see it. I've heard it has post-production 3d though, so I'm going to try to find a 2d version somewhere in my area.

Saw the last HP film tonight. It's pretty awesome. The bit where Voldemort yells out "Avada Kedavra" in the Forbidden Forest is pretty lolworthy though.

I also saw it in 3D

Going on Friday with my brother (between us we've probably read all the books at least four times over) and my dad who's never read the books but seems to enjoy the movies despite missing sizeable portions of them after falling asleep. I'm pretty excited even though I had never really liked the movies - I've got this nostalgic feeling and it's making me want to read the book (I know it came out just three years ago, but I was eleven at the time and I was really into it).

I'm going to see it tonight at 7.

Movies come out here on Thursdays so I don't have to wait for midnight releases. :)

End of an era, I tell ya.  Not seeing it tonight as my girlfriend wanted to take me to see Midnight in Paris and I'd rather not wait till midnight when I have a midterm to study for this weekend.

My local theater is not big enough to support the massive droves of people who will be there at midnight. I'll just wait a few days; I'd rather not fight to the death for a seat, and I have no interest in getting there hours early like many people I know. I don't care THAT much. :lol I'll probably see it on Saturday or Sunday.

Definitely going on Friday though. I'm fucking stoked.

Just got home. All in all it was very good, but I think I was hoping for a bit more. Spoiler tainted thoughts below

SPOILERS

My biggest problem was them shortchanging some of Severus's memories that he gives to Harry. They really don't sell his falling in love with Lily and everything as well as it's done in the book

The deaths of Fred, Lupin and Tonks were stripped of some of their emotional punch by happening offscreen.

I didn't like them moving Harry and Voldermort's final battle out of the Great Hall

I did like the new scene where Harry reveals his presence to Snape in the Great Hall

When Molly landed the final blow on Bellatrix, I had to resist the urge to yell out "Fatality" in the theater

My only complaint:

Emma Watson didn't undress with Ron/Harry after Gringotts. I WANNA SEE DEM TITTIES DAMMIT /pervert

No but srsly. Great, great film. If Alan Rickman doesn't walk away with best supporting actor I'm going to rage

Er... best movie of all the saga... considering that the 7th book was a piece of shit.

DH2 was an action movie, and oh my God, what a great action movie it was.

Who gives a shit if Dumbledore's life wasn't included in the movie (some of my friends complained), the purpose of Part 2 was to show an action film. Yates didn't have time to include it in the film (it would have terribly slowed the pace). I was hooked the whole time. LOVED IT.

*Spoilers*

It was a good movie, but there were just way too many times that I found myself laughing out loud at things that were supposed to be serious. Like the part when Dumbledore appears out of the whiteness to Harry in the afterlife and he's just like "MY WONDERFUL BOY!"

Also pretty much every time Voldemort said anything I laughed because of how over the top it was done. Especially "AVADA KADAVRA!" in the Forbidden Forest.

Truly the end of an era, and an unprecedented accomplishment in cinema.  Eight films spanning ten years.  I hope the academy gives some sort of nod to this.  Cant wait to see this flick.

Ok, huge spoilers because there are a few things that make me feel terribly disappointed about this movie:

GINORMOUS SPOILERS

1- What happened to the resurrection stone? What was its purpose in the movie? Furthermore, why talk so much about the deathly hallows and then shrug them off like they don't even matter? While not physically, if I'm not mistaken Harry had the three of them at the end of the movie, it would have been nice to see the whole thing about becoming the master of death.
2- Snape's memories - I dont know if it was the spanish dub but they were terribly "unconnected" and didn't make much sense. I had to read the Wikipedia entry for Snape to be able to understand everything because I was so confused by the scenes in the movie.
3- Was I the only one that was underwhelmed by the ending? They've spent 7 movies and 10 years of their life chasing and trying to kill this guy who supposedly can go all Sauron on the whole world, and after they kill him all they can do is sit and chat and cut to 19 years after? WHAT THE FUCK
4- The epilogue was kind of awkward... not only because I don't think they were properly aged, but because his son (who is supposedly in his first year, about to be assigned to a house) looks at least 4-5 years older than Harry himself looked on the first movie. I mean, he's supposed to be 11 years old and he looks at least 15...

I hope I'm wrong about some of these because I'd love to love it (baby), but right now all I feel is disappointment.
