Watching King of the Hill... It just hit me... Boomhower and Quagmire are both awesome

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Boomhauer doesn't necessarily contribute more to the overall plot on an episode-by-episode basis, but his character is more developed if you consider the overall arc of the series.

Though Quagmire will generally garner more belly-laughs.

Damn, tough call.  Take away each from their show, and FG suffers much more. But it is more one-dimensional. And the Hank-Bill-Dale-Boomhauer dynamic is perfect.

I'd honestly say Boomhaur is the funnier one. Well, I say that but the humor seldom comes directly from Boomhaur. More of him being completely passive and emotionless and then Hank yelling at him to calm down, or to stop giving him those puppy dog eyes.

Quagmire is just all GUYS LOOK I LIKE SEX A LOT GUYS.

Of course, I'm pretty biased because I cannot stand what Family Guy has become.

Quagmire was a funny little novelty when I first began watching Family Guy somewhere around season 2. One of his funnier moments is in an episode where he's seen standing my his window, naked, and then the window falls down and crushes his penis. That was pretty funny. But just like everything about Family Guy, it stopped being funny and just began to become this long, drawn out joke that at any party you'd just start to ignore and walk away from when that one drunk guy won't stop shouting "That's what she said" every time someone else said "so I was making love with my significant other".

I agree with this completely. It also doesn't help that Quagmire (and all of Family Guy, really) are so painfully over-quoted.
