So did the father ever comment one way or the other about the girl's alibi?  I understand that he vehemently denied diddling her, but I didn't hear anything about the alleged drowning.  Seems like that's sort of an important point.

The family released a statement in which they never actually said their daughter was innocent, which I find rather damning.

It's like living with a vegetarian.  My mom follows this trial and thus I do too.

I can't believe they found her not guilty.  WTF?

But I also agree that there is no reason that this should have been national news.  Shit like this happens all the time, every day, in every country. 

However I do agree with whoever said that Jared Loughner's trial will be bigger (if he even gets one) and Michael Jackson's doctor's trial will be bigger.

Well,  for the time being at least, we don't live in a country where people get hanged for being terrible persons.  People get hanged for being proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and that didn't happen.  Not sure what makes you a better judge of reasonable doubt than the jurors.

Personally,  I'm damned amused by the people who are so outraged about an unpunished murderer that they want to murder her and/or her parents.  I'm equally amused by a juror who waited less than 24 hours before trying to hawk his story to TMZ for 50k.  As much as I'm troubled by them,  I have to admit that good ole American values can be damned entertaining at times.
