Surprised that Triumph was so low.  That is a great album.

I expect to see Max Webster as well as Rush represented highly on this list.  Helix is also from Canada and they'll probably be on there shortly.

Not sure what will be considered "hard rock/heavy metal", but you've also got The Tragically Hip, April Wine, Loverboy, Steppenwolf, Kim Mitchell, Saga, BTO.  Also, what makes a band Canadian?  Is Skid Row eligible because Sebastian Bach is Canadian?  I would think not, but we'll have to see.

Glad to see that Kick Axe made it on the list. I read the first page and noticed that nobody had mentioned them. I was preparing to scream from the mountain top, clicked on the 2nd page then smiled.

Kick Axe's Vices is a fantastic album. Saw them on a triple bill with Quiet Riot and Whitesnake in 1985.

I agree, Allied Forces should be much higher on the list. There's no way that album should be below anything by Killer Dwarfs or Helix, for example. Tsk.

Same, and I'm Canadian.

Now you know why it's 30 albums and not bands, because if they had to find 30 bands, the band with setrataeso and Global Laziness would have made it.

Also, there better be a lot more Rush.

#13) ANNIHILATOR - Alice In Hell (Roadracer 1989)

Jeff Waters is a shred-headed Canuck institution, having stuck to his guns through a vast catalogue of precision, accessible thinking-man's thrash, rocking now more than 20 years down the line. But back in ’89, we had the band’s debut, a “commercial” thrash semi-classic along the lines of MEGADETH (rumor has it Mustaine has always wanted to work with Jeff), ANTHRAX or METALLICA, not without faults, but studded with metal events, production plushness, and precision rhythms that would presage the rise of PANTERA. Pretty weird seeing DOA’s old vocalist Randy Rampage in this pure and committed metal guise, but there ya go. Waters is known for his revolving door of musicians, but certainly one of those consistent, treasured Canuck metal all-stars.

What an amazing album, I love this one.  :metal

There better be some Harem Scarem on this list. Awesome band.
Also there was a great album by a band called Big House- I'm sure they were Canadian.

Used to have a Killer Dwarfs album, can't remember a thing about it.
Anvil will be number 1.

I think Big House was Canadian (I remember their s/t album with All She Wrote, and Dollar in my Pocket).
Harem is awesome... my wife was friends with the band - Harry in particular.

However, I would be seriously disappointed if anyone considered those albums > AFtK.
