We’ll be premiering some songs we’ve never played live before, as well as featured tracks from our latest self-titled release and plenty of classic DT songs for all of our long time and hard-core fans. We are all looking forward to a great night of music and super-psyched to kick it all off!”

Let the speculation...BEGIN!!!

Also, I'm not passing up the Washington DC show this time around!!!

No St. Louis date.  Again.  Shocking.

As for songs they've never played before, he was referencing songs not from the new album, and unless I am mistaken, the only songs they've never played before are Space Dye Vest, The Shattered Fortress and The Best of Times, right?  I mean, he could be referring to non-album songs like Raw Dog or several of the FII demo songs, but I doubt it.

How disappointing... Nothing closer than 5 hours away on a Tuesday night. I think I'm going to have to pass on this :(

Lucky to be near one of the 13 shows in the USA. Seems like a short run. Maybe a summer fall run too?

Well, other than the new album, of course, that only leaves Space Dye Vest, The Shattered Fortress, and The Best of Times, right? I'm thinking the only possible choice is SDV, and maybe TSF.

You're messing with Texas Dee Tee, bad for your health..
Is this really all the NA leg dates? Isn't this much shorter than the Dramatic tour first NA leg?

True, but all of the FII demos (all 5 of them) have been played live before. The only B-side that hasn't been played live is "Don't Look Past Me", which would KILL live but I doubt JLB has the range for it now...unless he's been exercising his voice more. It COULD work...

That really only leaves "The Best Of Times", "The Shattered Fortress", "Raw Dog" and "Space-Dye Vest" as every other studio album song has been played live up to ADTOE. So with only 5 studio songs never before played live, how many of them could they actually pull out and do justice to? Hopefully they're referring to SDV and TSF, but it would be a BIT of a let down if they said "songs we've never played" and only mean 2.

I really thought they would never upgrade from the National Auditorium, which holds 9k people (which is a fairly good number, by DT's standards). This is probably going to be their biggest concert from the leg.

Same with Montreal.  The Bell Centre is the NHL arena where the Canadiens play.  That's huge.  Quebec always has been a much bigger metal market, but that's awesome that they are doing an evening with show at a venue of that size.  Almost makes me want to head up there.

Cool that Toronto is the kickoff.  Can't wait for that!

Anyone familiar with Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC?  Is it a seated or standing venue?  Looks like standing, but they also have an option for seating.  Just curious if I need to grab a good seat right away, or sit back and just pick up a GA ticket for whenever.

If I recall correctly, that's where the Gigantour DVD took place. It's awesome that they're upping their game and playing bigger places, at least outside the US.

I just called the venue.  They said the floor is standing.  There are balcony seats along the walls that she called "VIP."  She said there is also balconies toward the back, like a mezzanine area I suppose.

Not only is there not a SINGLE SHOW IN TEXAS, but the closest one is in Missouri?!     Jesus, DT, I really hope there's more dates coming soon.  I've been waiting for these dates for months and I'd be extremely disappointed if the closest show was on a Wednesday night 10 hours away during the Spring semester.

There has GOT to be more dates to be announced
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Anyone have the LiveNation pre-sale code for the LA show yet?

I'll be on my way to Vegas on Thursday at the time that the pre-sale starts so that's going to be interesting...  :lol

I'll probably have to stop near Barstow or something in order to get decent reception on my phone.
