There is a phrase loop in "On The Backs of Angels"
« on: June 30, 2011, 06:17:05 AM »
It is being repeated like 3 or 4 times right in the beginning. I hear something like "the promise can be true".

I really can't hear it.  Are you talking about the clean section in the beginning?

As I said in the other thread it sounds like its been reversed, probably some samplewiz magic.

I mean really early on. Like 2 seconds in. Raise the volume and listen. It's clearer to me now after many efforts to get what the female voice is saying. It must be "the promise can be true".

well the looping is JR playing with samplewiz for sure but I don't think it's reversed.

I hear it.  I'm not even sure if it's right.  "You breaking me.........."  I can't hear the last few words.

No, they are not.

It's most likely a voice that's part of a preset sound in the Korg Kronos or some other synthesizer JR uses.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

Why is that most likely when the guy playing it owns a company that produces apps that record sounds immediately for instant manipulation.

As I said JR is playing with the phrase with samplewiz or something like that. The question is what is the female voice saying exactly?

I heard something like "the promise could be true" or "scooby scooby doo"... it would be hilarious if it was indeed the latter  :rollin

Yeah, I have no idea what the cakeless person in that analogy is meant to be eating. If he's got some sort of cake substitute, it should really have been worked into the narrative at some point. As it stands, the options are:

  • Hoard a cake just to stare blankly into its doughy edifice.
  • Make futile chewing motions with your mouth while starving to death.
