And why was that necessary?
I wasn't trying to be harsh. I should've explained how I felt about that and I didn't. So sorry for being an ass to that guy.

The video has reached 1000000!
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Who cares?

:D

In all seriousness though, its pretty cool that its reached the 1,000,000 mark. Does anyone remember how many AROP had a month after release? Just interested to compare :)

So, on the average it's 33,000 listens per day. Not bad at all.  :metal

DAMMIT! Only the the low quality version reached one million views, not the one in Dream Theater's channel. I am terribly disappointed. I can now understand why Mosh didn't care, he wanted the higher quality version to reach one million views, we all misunderstood him.

Maybe it's because the video on the RR channel got much more promotion than the one on the DT channel.
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

Hi, hello there - been a long time since i posted here. I just wanted to relay my thoughts on the new song. I have not been a big fan of Systematic Chaos or Black Clouds & Silver Linings; too long winded and not the best song structures. Anywho is this not about those albums.

The first thing I noticed about the new song is how the keyboards in the very beginning reminds me alot of the patches Kevin Moore used. Especially in the beginning of Pull me Under, I know this probably has already been said - but I want to mention it. I think the new song is very good. First of all the lyrics doesn't stick out, but they are quite good, especially when you compare them too the lyrics written for the four last albums. People say that: finally we can hear Myung, well I've heard him pretty good in the last three albums so that's nothing new. But they are more audible than they used to be, so that is very good. Second of all I think the instruments complement eachother very well. Especially i like the way MM accentuate the other instruments when needed. I can't really grade MM as a the new Dream Theater since he seems to be close to what MP used to do. But after we've heard the whole new album it will give us more to think about. Thirdly I think the song structure are how they should be, and I don't think the song is too long winded. However we won't know how the album is going to be. But after what I have heard of this new song, the info about the new album - myung lyrics!!, song titles and song length - it all seems to be coming along very well. Just to put it like this; I haven't been this giddy about a new Dream Theater album since Six Degrees.

Have you guys seen this yet?

Interesting single art...  Radically different from the album cover.  I guess its supposed to represent "leading lambs to the slaughter".

In b4 ASPCA criticism.

No, it's ok. Zoom in and you'll see at the bottom of the cover it says "No animals were harmed during the Photoshopping of this image".

I know, but it looks silly. Maybe if they had a herder leading lambs into a barn it would look better.

Are singles' art usually done by the same person who does the album art? Or not necessarily? Can's say it looks very Symey

Syme makes me appreciate Storm Thorgerson's principle of setting the picture up in real life so very much. He could at least have gone out for half a day and taken a picture of a lamb or something

I think I'm done with Hugh Syme.  Loved the 8vm cover.  The SC one was also really cool.  Liked aspects of BCSL, but this is just weak.  He's so obviously mailing it in.

Yeah, I know. The wording just got me. :lol

I didn't like the BCASL cover art that much, and I like this new one the least of his covers, so I'd be interested to see someone else's take on it in future, although I still feel he does a good job of the package as a whole including the booklet art.
Since a lot of my DT work is making videos out of those other images, I take note of those more than just the cover itself. And for the last two albums, I feel the cover itself is among the weaker of the work he does for each album, while some of the inside art is much better, so I'd be happy for him to stay on, but I think more importance needs to be placed on the cover image in future. That's the make or break image.
