Damnit Zack, I was going to make a thread for them. I've been obsessed lately. Anyway, I have 3 of their albums on vinyl: F# A# Infinity, Slow Riot, and Skinny Fists. All of them are incredible. Favorite songs: The Dead Flag Blues, East Hastings, BBF3, Sleep

Fantastic band.
Very unique post-rock band seeing as they use strings, and their whole sound is very different from the more modern post-rock scene we have today.

Slow Riot is really pretty fucking incredible. Listened to it twice today, and it's already become a fast favorite from the band!

Agreed. Everyone goes nuts over "Sleep" but "Storm" is so much better. Nothing tops "Dead Flag Blues", though.

Well, pretty much all four songs on Lift Your Skinny Fists... are incredible, so I can't argue with anyone listing them in an order of preference. I just think Storm is the bee's knees.

I have to admit, though, that F# A# (Infinity) is probably the GY!BE album I listen to the least, so I'll have to give it a whirl to reacquaint myself with it.

Rockets Fall... and Motherfucker=Redeemer (Part One) are definitely my favorites from Yanqui U.X.O.

it's all about "The Dead Flag Blues" (the first section), "The Sad Mafioso" (from "East Hastings"), "Dead Metheny" (from "Providence"), "World Police and Friendly Fire" (from "Static"), all of "Storm," and "motherfucker=redeemer" pt. 2, though i'd never turn down any Godspeed if it's on.

they did some tour dates this year after one long-ass hiatus... would be nice if we got a new album out of it, but that doesn't seem to be on the cards.

If it was me I'd probably have gone anyways. A test wouldn't stop me from seeing a band this good knowing they've been on hiatus for that long. Especially if we didn't know if that could have been the last one.

Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven

When I started with F#A# Infinity my initial reaction was to stay as far away from the band as possible.

Of course, it eventually grew on me to an extent.

Actually I think Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada is the most accessible release from the band.
