As I Am Cover - Split Screen.
« on: June 28, 2011, 02:33:32 AM »
The guys who absolutly nailed Metropolis pt.1 have done As I Am with a different vocalist. I think it reigns. Vocalist has a proper Myles Kennedy vibe about him.

Didn't like the singer at all. His voice sounds heavily auto-tuned and effect laden. I'm sure he's a good singer, but he really doesn't sound good with this type of production IMO. Otherwise it's an awesome cover, especially the guitar solo.

Flawless. The singer kicked ass, just as all the others. I could barely hear the keys though, just like on the original.

Very good!  I think the new singer sounds a bit like the singer from Shinedown.

Loved it, especially the guitar solo. The drum fill is the only thing that was kinda off, or maybe it's just me.

These guys should spend more time writing their own songs instead of trying to replicate Dream Theater songs note for note. They're obviously talented.

And yes that JP solo was a little sloppy.

Also they have one of the worst band names in the history of band names.

Love these covers, Metropolis especially is breathtaking. It's not only the talent they have in replicating the songs, but the sound and mix are always brilliant too.

These guys should spend more time writing their own songs instead of trying to replicate Dream Theater songs note for note. They're obviously talented.
The guitarist and bassist (along with the vocalist from the Constant Motion cover and a different drummer) have an album written and I believe they're going to start recording it in September. Unfortunately the keyboardist (who was also in the previous cover versions) decided to leave the band, so I'm not sure what they're going to do in regards to that.

They already released 2 songs which are  :metal Really excited about hearing more of their songs.

A great cover indeed. I love the vocalist on the Metropolis cover, he's amazing.

edit: Ah, I thought the Metropolis singer looked/sounded familiar. I used to be obsessed with his covers a few years ago. He's a great singer. Will Shaw.

Incredible. Also, Bad Salad FTW. I know this is a different band, but considering it usually consists of 2 or 3 of Bad Salad's members, I just wanted to say they are awesome.

I really like what the singer did with some of the vocals, some really cool little changes.

Yeah these guys seriously kick ass.

Funny Story:
Will Shaw (singer from the Metropolis cover that they did) used to do DT/Symphony X covers in his car. I was at a Symphony X concert and ran into him  :) Talked to him for like an hour then met up with him at another SX and then a BTBAM concert.

This band is very talented and Thiago (guitarist) said on facebook that they will most likely do a cover of ON THE BACKS OF ANGELS when it comes out.
