Jagr is expressing interest in returning to the Penguins. I'd certainly welcome it.

https://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/s_743092.html

it's between pens, wings, and an undisclosed team right now. there is only one team that i can think of which likes to deal undisclosed. jagr/elias would be a deadly combo.

apparently pens are only interested if the price is very low, which probably disqualifies them.

Dear god not the Wings.  Jagr is the reason I started hating the Pens even though I'm a born and raised yinzer.

I'll be surprised if Jagr comes back.  I don't think anyone's going to pay him enough to lure him out of Russia.

Anyone who does is not going to be happy with the result.

his feet are just not where they need to be.....and it will quickly become evident.

Hell...did you see that one goal of Tyler Seguin's...where he turns on the speed and blows through two defenders......that's the speed Jagr no longer possesses.

Now if Tyler can put it all together and play a little defense......the sky's the limit for him.

Probably. It'd be so nice to see what the Pens could do if they actually had a winger, though.

The wings should NOT sign jagr....the wings need speed and toughness, both of which a 39 year old does not bring.

Flyers and their goalies..they just can't get it right.
He'll be ok for a while...but if he falters....eek. It's like Vancouver being stuck with Luongo for another 8 years or whatever it is.

On another note.
Ottawa radio held polls to ask listeners what they would give up to get  one of the top picks.
Would they trade both the 6th and the 21st? For say...1 or 2?
The 6th and a 2nd rounder? for the Devil's 4th?
The 21st and ALL of the 2nd round picks (three I think)

Im interested to see what happens.

Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

and he's apparently asking for 7 year 50M, so it's over 7M a year. They need to clear at least 5 i think it may be more.

Jeez.  I would not have gone over $20 million for four years.

This is the age of goaltender parity.  Great goaltenders come cheap and plentiful.  No reason to shell out for a guy giving you what Bryzgalov brings, when you can get a cheaper option, for just nearly as good, and keep the team that's going to win you games.

I can't see the Flyers going that long on a deal with Bob in waiting.

I posted this on 5/8:

The Flyers are fucking retarded.

Regular Season
Sergei Bobrovsky and Brian Boucher last year: 46-23-12, 2.52 GAA, 0.915 sv %
Ilya Bryzgalov: 36-20-10, 2.48 GAA, 0.921 sv%
Total goals saved if Bryzgalov was a Flyer: 14 (and that's if he played every game)

Playoffs
Brian Boucher and Sergei Bobrovsky: 4-6, 3.16 GAA, 0.897 sv %
Ilya Bryzgalov: 0-4, 4.36 GAA, 0.879 sv %
Total goals saved if Bryzgalov was a Flyer: -6

Totally worth adding $5 million to your payroll and probably ditching Carter for.

Well the problem originates with a shitty trade. We should have learned from the Hamhuis deal NOT to trade anything away for the CHANCE at signing a goalie. Now the organization feels they have to sign Bryz, and while he may be a solid 5m a year goalie he sure as hell isn't worth 7mil/7yr.

Vokoun's a perfect fit.  I can't believe they're not going after him.  Better, cheaper, for less length.

I guess I'm not that surprised by Carter, but I'm stunned about Richards.

Yea, I guess with Carter's contract similar in length and amount to Bryzgalov they had to do it but it's still a shock.

With all this change and the Flyer playing the B's on opening night to raise the flag I wish the NHL matched up the Habs instead.

Avs are somewhere like 10mill UNDER the cap minimum. I have no idea what this team is doing.

Is it tough to be excited for something you may not be alive for?

I have sooooooooooo much to say about the Flyers in the last week, and when I'm not about to fall asleep at the keyboard and done with the weekends activities I will post them up, but for now I'd say my feelings are mixed, but slightly negative.
