Ugh, the ESPN site was broken last night so I couldn't update my lineup for today.  Now I have a couple players sitting on the bench.   :tdwn

Dude, save your money for the wedding....ur playoffs.

I'm sucking all I can out of the free preview until Oct. 23.  I really want to see that Jets-Habs game Sunday. And Hockey Night in Canada is tomorrow.

I would never pay for the Center Ice package unless there are major changes made to it. Even NHL Network has been disappointing so far.

Ottawa almost pulled it out tonight. Weird seeing Xenon in another Uni, but it had to happen if the Islanders are to improve.

I didn't watch the Devils game, but I'm sure you'll fill us all in Nick.

Caught the end of the Islanders loss.

Now we're putting ads on the ice surface. Niiice.

Good thing the free preview ends in a few weeks. I wouldn't get anything done!

Boy does a good goalie make a difference.

Good win by the B's tonight.

Tyler Seguin with 3 assists in 2 games. The kid looks like he's ready to take the next step.

Don't exactly need a good goalie to get shutouts.  It's mostly determined by random variation, with a strong correlation with low number of shots allowed, and a somewhat weaker correlation with goalie save percentage.

I'm saying Philly is much better with this goalie.  Don't lecture me on what helps a team defensively GP.  I've watched hockey long enough to know a goalie itself doesn't mean low goals against.  What do you think I'm a hokey noob?! :lol

Wings look good early this year, young third and forth liners carried the opener and the big guys came tonight; and blanking the Suckalanche on Forplayberg night is extra sweet.

The Blue Jackets started 0-2 playing rather badly in both games. Hopefully they can a more successful season this year. The past few years have been very sub-par.

Such an awesome night in Denver. The ceremony was fantastic, the game was exciting... Avs lost - oh well. Goaltending was solid, the two goals were nasty for a goaler to stop. Just need the offense to start to click, they had some great chances.

Ran into a new friend at the airport too!

Yeh I saw a nice tweet after the flames game, "Penguin 2011-12 - Ruining Your Home Opener".
Shame we couldn't make it 3 in a row, but that's just greedy I guess :)

Nothing will beat last year when the Flyers rolled into Pittsburgh's shiny new building and we took our rookie goaltender with 0 NHL experience and kicked some Penguin ass. :D

Congrats on two measly points.

Pens vs. Flyers games this year are going to be crazy. Talbot and Jagr will be in trouble.

https://www.thepensblog.com/tpb/oct2011/jeremy-roenick-goes-on-a-bizarre-sidney-crosby-rant.html

What the hell?

“I love watching Sidney Crosby, but aren't you guys sick of all this by now?” Roenick said. “I'm sick of it. I'm sick and tired of listening to Sidney Crosby saying, 'Nothing is new yet.' ”

As host Bill Patrick and Eddie Olczyk tried to reason with him, Roenick continued.

“Just don't interview him anymore. I know he's the best player in the league, the best player in the world,” Roenick said. “Head shots are very, very difficult. I'm not saying he's not hurt. There's no question. I've been hit very, very hard. I understand what concussions are all about.you have to be very concerned about this. But enough.”

Get on the ice, let's get going. … let's start hitting. Let's get back in,” Roenick said. “I don't wanna hear every day 'How's your head? How's your head? How's your head?' I don't wanna watch Sidney Crosby tell me every single day how there's nothing new to report.

I fully agree with JR. The coverage of Crosby has been pretty much non-stop over nothing. Give us real updates when they come and that's it.

How do you tell a guy with a concussion to 'get back on the ice and start hitting'? And he hasn't had a press conference for three weeks.

I agree with the shut up about Crosby and lets focus on hockey that is currently happening. Tell me when there is a development in his recovery. Don't tell me there is nothing to tell me.

Chris Neil. The most penalized player since the lockout....suspensions......"0".

He's had some doozies in there too.
Nice hit last night.
He put the team on his back last night.....and let me tell you...Kuba and Gonchar are VERY heavy.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.

But you're blaming the media, right? I think it was weird because Roenick sounded like he was trying to blame Crosby. I've got no issue with blaming the media for anything. I haven't watched many pre- or post-game shows so I haven't heard much reporting on him.

He said "Stop interviewing him"... so yes the media was the target.

Bruins hopefully can kick the early season 'hangover' and get a win in Carolina tonight. I can accept the opening night loss to Philly....losing 1-0 to a bad Avalanche team on home ice is just...not...cool....

The Avs have played 2 games this season... how do you know they are bad?

Varlamov has played outstanding so far - stopping 66 of 68 shots in two games. The two shots that did get past were lasers by Detroit. Defense has bulked up, they don't just bounce off guys and fall over (Chara getting knocked down one example). Offense is brand spanking new, tons of young talent that need to get their NHL jitters out. When they click, it could be magic.

Do not take the Avs for granted this season, they made a heck of a lot of changes since last year.
