I really don't see this getting replies. But who loves this song?

It's probably my least favorite DT has ever made.

Honestly I like every DT song, including this one...I wonder if there is one DT fan out there who picks this as their favorite DT song.

It's just meh. I like a lot of pop music, so it's not just genre distaste. It's just not that great of a pop rock song.

Good verses with meh lyrics, nice guitar solo, but the chorus sucks all remaining decency out of it. You Or Me had a better flow regarding that matter.

I enjoy it. I like it musically and think it actually has really good backing vocals from the guys. Sure the lyrics are kind of faux-angsty, and it definately isn't anywhere near the best on FII, but I can listen to it no problem. In fact I do like it more than Just Let Me Breathe.

I know many people don't like this song but I don't mind listening to it from time to time.. I mean it's a kind of a song you can make fun of, the lyrics are quite silly but in my opinion Burning my soul is much worse ;b

It's a good song. I prefer You Or Me, but both are fine.
I can see how it would have caught more flack back when the album was fresh, since they had a much smaller catalog of songs back then, and fans had no way of knowing what the band's musical direction would be post-FII.

Having discovered the band several albums later, I never had a problem with it.

When I first heard it in '97 I thought DT sold out to sound like Bon Jovi. But when I later discovered the You Or Me demo, i truly began to appreciate the song. The bridge with the piano interlude is one of my favorite moments in all of DT.

I need to see this song live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the demo version, but I won't even sugarcoat it, You Not Me has to be my least favorite DT song. The chorus hurts.

You know what...I don't mind You Not Me. It doesn't really bother me at all. The riff is decent and the ending is pretty cool. DT easily have several worse songs than this one, including Burning My Soul.

You Not Me and "Burning My Soul" are my least favorite Dream Theater songs. I like "You Or Me", but the chorus in both versions of "Burning My Soul" still bother me a lot.

This is actually the only song that stuck with me when I bought that album. I didn't like it much, but it was catchy and I didn't understand what was going on with the rest of the album at the time (plus it seemed like the wait was forever and I was expecting Awake pt. 2). It took me nearly 10 years to come back and re-discover what an incredible piece of art FII is (I consider it my 2nd favorite DT album now) - but it was YNM that even made me want to revisit it in the first place.
