The king, the undisputed king, of misheard lyrics for me is a song by a band I don't even like: Chevelle's "Send The Pain Below"

Few years ago, I was working in my job as a construction superintendent, and I had a radio in my office trailer on the local rock station when that Chevelle song was getting a lot of airplay. There were two lyrics in it that I always misheard in comically hilarious ways:

The first one:
Real lyric:
I'd send the pain below
Much like suffocating

Misheard:
I'd send the pain below
Monks like suffocating

The next misheard lyric:

Real:
I can't feel my chest
(Chest, chest)

Misheard:
I can't feel my nuts
(Nuts, nuts)

I had NO idea what this song was about back then :D

Just been listening to Paul gilbert's King Of Clubs and the song Vinyl and remembered the lyric I used to think was in the song.

Real- I never noticed her face or hair

Miheard- I never noticed her facial hair

Bumping this as I've just pllayed KISS's Unholy and read the lyrics because I've always thought the lyrics were a bit weird so thought I would check them out. Doing so made me realise I had them somewhat wrong.

Real lyrics: I'm the infection and famine/ That's knocking at your door

Misheard: I'm the affectionate fireman/ That's knocking at your door

I know a few women who would like an affectionate fireman to do just that.
