Recording from Piano (keyboard) to Laptop- What do?
« on: June 11, 2011, 10:04:10 AM »
I've been wanting to record music from my keyboard directly to my laptop, but im not sure at all how. I have no idea what I would need, what I have to do, etc., so I was wondering if someone here could help me out.

If it helps, on the back of my keyboard is a port that says USB, but its a Standard B (as shown in picture below)

What keyboard is it? Most likely the USB is for MIDI and in that case you need a plugin in order to create sound... The easiest way is to record from the audio out of your keyboard.

Uh, can't you just connect your keyboard's line-out to your computer's line-in and well, record it?
