wow that was one of the best trailers for a comedy show in a long time, just so spot on for what to expect and actually getting me to laugh throughout it

Looks awesome! Just based on the trailer I would say it’s going to be better than season 9.

I hope Larry stays motivated with the show and it keeps going! But any new season at this point is a bonus to me. Just an outstanding show

There are 180 episodes of Seinfeld which I figure I’ve seen at least 30-35 times, so that’s over 5000 viewings. With Curb there are 90 episodes plus one special which I’ve seen probably 5 times each. So suffice to say these are my two all time favorite shows. Third place is Trailer Park Boys!

"There's a Big Johnson community?"

(Unrelated, this is what followed the trailer for me:  https://youtu.be/sUMzQ0karAk.  It's worth it for the moment at about 4:10, when he says "I'm only sorry that my mother's not alive to be here tonight" and pauses for that little smirk and you know this isn't going in the direction one might think it to.)

How is everyone liking this season so far?

I am laughing a lot, but it really seems hit or miss (meaning the non-laughing parts are not very good).  And there seems to be a lot of yelling this season, especially by Jeff, who suddenly seems like he's trying too hard. It's a little weird.

And feel free to string me up, but Leon is a useless character at this point. I guess he is only there so Larry has someone to talk to at home since he and Cheryl got divorced, but most of the worst scenes now seem to be the ones with Leon.  He just isn't funny now.  At all.

Ehhh....It's still 'funny' just because of how awkward and ignorant Larry is.....but it's certainly not at the level of funny of years past. I'll watch the remainder of the season....but at this point.....it seems as if the shows best days are behind it.

Agreed.  Don't get me wrong, it's still funny overall, but its best days are definitely a thing of the past.

I really enjoyed the first episode with the Maga hat storyline. That was great. The second episode left me cold, but the following three episodes were decent.

It is uncanny how much Jeff resembled Harvey Weinstein  :D

Eh. This season is meh.

I love this show but there’s just something off about these last couple seasons. Hard to put my finger on but it’s...too...self aware? Trying too hard. Larry is funny just by being himself but in every scene he’s clearly trying hard to be LARRY. If that makes sense.

Also, agree Leon needs to go. A long time ago. I know Larry David thinks he’s the funniest guy on the planet but he just stinks up most of the scenes he’s in. What is he even doing there? Larry would never have another man hang out at his house.

I also think that Cheryl’s absence is definitely felt. She always kept LD grounded and they played off each other brilliantly. Now we just have Leon and the dynamic just isn’t right.

I think you’re spot on with the ‘trying too hard’ observation. Previous seasons were fluid and almost looked like they weren’t trying. This season feels real forced.

Never in my whole life ever seen a single episode....not even a clip.

Watching the very first episode right now and laughing my butt off.

It's amusing to me that Curb has run for 11 seasons now considering he had a panic attack every time he had to write a new season of Seinfeld :lol

As much as I don't necessarily care for all the things that go on around him, there is still at least two moments in each show where I think "this is still worth watching" or I say (if she's not there) "My wife has to see this!".

I'm indifferent on JB Smoove; sometimes he's funny, sometimes not.  I'm indifferent on Jeff Garvin.  I do love Susie Essman; the inevitable tirade never gets old to me.  I LOVE Ted Dansen.  I leave the room when Richard Lewis comes on; he wasn't funny back in the day, now that he's a raw nerve stereotype it's even less appealing.  I miss Bob Einstein.

Leon was funny at first, but now it seems his only purpose is to show up in random scenes and curse up a storm.  I find the scenes with him to be the ones I am likely to get up and take a leak during and not feel the need to hit the pause button on the DVR.

But I cannot agree about Richard Lewis. The scenes where he and Larry argue, which is most of them :lol, are comedy gold.  Same with Larry and Ted Danson.

That's because he was on a schedule with Seinfeld. The network would have strict deadlines and expectations for content. With HBO, he makes content whenever he's ready to. He's gone years between seasons just because he didn't have any ideas at the moment. I like it that way.

Also have to disagree on Richard Lewis' appearances. I don't think the guy is that funny on his own, but I love Larry's interactions with him. Bob's death really sucked. He was great as Funkhouser. Some of my favorite episodes (Carpool and Dodgers game, Larry stealing flowers off his mom's memorial, etc..).

I'm a sucker for JB Smoove though. I love having Leon on the show.

Does anyone know why some of the cast uses their IRL names (Ted) and others don't (Bob)?

I agree with you who say Leon is hit or miss.  But when he hits, it's usually really funny.

I also really like Richard Lewis other than his attire  :lol but my understanding is he's only in one episode this season as his health wasn't very good.

Actually think this season has started coming around.  The last few episodes have been way better than the start of the season.

I'm also starting to think this show may end with Larry going to jail  :lol

So... Uconn Men's Basketball played in Boston this past weekend and Larry David was at one of the games (apparently, he has a "live appearance" there.  I don't know if he handed out any bottled water.)

Uconn was tied with Illinois 23-23 with a couple minutes left in the first half, then went on a 30-0 run extending well into the second half.   Uconn is very, very focused on a repeat national championship, and they weren't shooting well in the first half at all, so Dan Hurley, the coach, was not letting up on the intensity.  It's bad for Illinois, but this is about more than one game.  Anyway, apparently David started to heckle Hurley, saying "Stop coaching!  You don't have to coach any more!" when the game got a little out of hand.   Then he started yelling at Hurley to take his starters out (he didn't and usually doesn't until about 2 or 3 minutes left in the game, regardless of how big the lead is).   Finally David left with about 4:00 minutes to go and had some kind of snarky words for Uconn.

For a Curb fan, I'm like "pretty, pretty, pretty funny!"

For a Uconn fan, I'm like "LARRY YOU FOUR-EYED FUCK! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!"

To his credit, Hurley was classy and said he loved the show and moved on.

It's bad for Illinois

Imagine how I felt.....  :eek

I agreed with Larry David though - they could have taken 30 seconds, let some time run off the clock and score 2.  It was pretty clear that my Every Day Guys at Illinois weren't going to catch up any time soon.

I hear you, and I feel bad, I do.   But that's not what Dan has been preaching all season long, and - no offense here - it's not like they were perfect; for the first half, Uconn didn't shoot any better than Illinois did.  They just didn't have an answer for Clingan.

Again, no offense, but there are maybe two teams that could give Uconn a run on any given night and one of them is still left in the building: Purdue.  I feel bad for Illinois - they're a good team - but that was more about that than anything in the moment.  These are kids, after all, and you only get one chance: as a Uconn fan (they hired Geno Auriemma my freshman year and Jim Calhoun my sophomore year) I wouldn't have had it any other way.   By the way, I mention Geno, and he was a fan of that as well; he NEVER took his foot off the gas, and while for a couple years he took a lot of heat for it, the women's game is better off over-all for what he did.

PS: I added a link to the post.

I completely agree (and I agreed with Bellicheck when it came up in the NFL - an offense's job is to score and a defense has to be able to stop them).

I hated seeing those kids lose by the wheels coming completely off.  Their offense was bad, their defense was bad - it wouldn't hurt so much if they lost and were competitive to the end, but it is what it is.  Brad Underwood was hilarious though - they asked him how they could make the game better and he said "make him (Clingan) a foot shorter."

I'm hoping to see Purdue in the championship against Uconn - I want to see the two 7-footers go at it.   :lol  And I always root for a Big-10 team.

I saw that too!!! It was very funny (and I don't think the interviewer got the sarcasm.)

I mean, there's no one "easy" at this point.  I do know I am grateful that Houston is out; I can't stand Kelvin Sampson.  I think he's a cheat and a liar and I don't like his coaching style.  Kind of on the DJ Burns bandwagon, though.  :)

I didn't care for Zach Edey's press conference; this "we're the underdog and no one appreciates us" mentality has got to go.  He was systematically listing all the programs that passed over him, as some sort of "vindication".  C'mon; one, you haven't won anything yet, so you're not quite there yet for "vindication" and two, at least this past year, you were the number one team in the country for the better part of the season and NO ONE is counting you as an "underdog".  Two straight games where Clingan DOMINATED, I mean literally CARRIED the Uconn team on his back, and the TBS crew - Barkley, Smith, Kellogg, and Johnson - still called him the "second-best big man in the country".  Fair enough, but Zach doesn't get to have it both ways.

That was a good run and a nice nostalgia filled final episode

Also, the final scene on the plane  :lol something that always pisses me off, glad he ended on a note doing the same thing the show did all along
