Ahhhh! I'm really tempted to read the review, but at the same time, I don't want any spoilers. I'm torn.  :lol

The main character leaves the band at the end.

It wasn't the end, because we're now discussing an 11th album.

What 11th album?
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

Anyway, I'm willing to bet that if the epic Thomas Lang audition riff we all know and love appears on the album, I think it will appear in either BMUBMD or LNF, judging by the "epic riffs" description of both songs.

Hey Rich, if you're reading this, are you able to tell us who wrote the lyrics for Lost Not Forgotten, This Is The Life, Outcry, and Far From Heaven?

Good review, but I take umbrage with the comment about there being bitterness that is still evident on both sides.  How has the DT side showed any bitterness?  And DT has never featured growling vocals, so how you can replace something that was never there? :P

I wish "Breaking All Illusions" was the album title.

No, it should be called "The Shaman's Trance" and have a shaman dude on a unicycle on a bridge in the sky.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I had butterflies in my stomach reading Rich's review. I didn't want to read it, but how could I not? I simply cannot wait to hear this album.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Do the latter. The experience of listening to an album for the first time is almost invariably enhanced by having the booklet's artwork to accompany it, especially with prog rock releases, which generally have quite amazing/interesting imagery within the booklet artwork.

Its looking very very unlikely...  All the reviews I've seen so far have mentioned lyrics for just about every song, and I don't remember if there were any songs they didn't mention lyrics or vocals.  I have definitely not seen any mention of instrumentals however...

It sounds to me the shorter songs are mostly ballady or piano/vocal duets.

I don't think there is.  We have lyricisists identified/deduced for:

1.   "On the Backs of Angels"
2.   "Build Me Up, Break Me Down"
5.   "Bridges in the Sky"
8.   "Breaking All Illusions"
9.   "Beneath the Surface"

And from Rich's review:

3.   "Lost Not Forgotten"      seems to have an "incredibly catch chorus"
4.   "This is the Life"         lyrics are quoted
6.   "Outcry"                 has a "striking vocal melody"

Which leaves:

7.   "Far from Heaven"     which Rich calls a "lilting, heartfelt piano led track", and which I think the Brazilian review said was a vocal/piano duet

Damn.  After hearing the general tone of OTBOA, I was really hoping for one.  The sorta Circus Maximus-y air I'm getting from the whole album would've been great for an instrumental, very proggy.

JP said that none of the test/audition riffs were used on the album.

There is no instrumental according to the editor of rocking.gr who will review the album.
He in fact said :
"I experience an emotional rollercoaster each time i listen to the album, and i feel like it is the most demanding review i've ever done.
I can assure you that the album has a lot of musical content, there is no instrumental, and there are 3 "ballalds" on the record."

I hope i translated it correctly from Greek. It sure sounds promising.

Similarly engaging is Bridges In The Sky, even if the unexpected sound of an Aboriginal battle cry that opens the track does sound a touch like The Simpson’s Barney Gumble cracking out a hearty burp down in Moe’s Tavern.
I shuddered reading this.

The cover for OTBoA is just... really not what I would have pictured for that song.

Also, just something that stood out for me on the Amazon page for the single;
