My guess on the vinyl version:
LP 1 (32:49)
Side 1 (15:41)
1. On the Backs of Angels (8:42)
2. Build Me Up, Break Me Down (6:59)
Side 2 (17:08)
3. Lost Not Forgotten (10:11)
4. This is the Life (6:57)
LP 2 (44:12)
Side 3 (22:25)
5. Bridges In The Sky (11:01)
6. Outcry (11:24)
Side 4 (21:47)
7. Far From Heaven (3:56)
8. Breaking All Illusions (12:25)
9. Beneath The Surface (5:26)
Total length = 76:51
Not bad, and no need to re-arrange the tracklisting for the vinyl version since this works out just fine for vinyl.
As for the lengths themselves, I like that the longest song isn't last but second-to-last. It reminds me of Adam & Eve by The Flower Kings, where they had an epic song in the second-to-last position and closed with a shorter song, a sort of coda.
I think "Beneath The Surface" will be a bright, up-tempo, major-chord-oriented uplifter that ends the album on a high note, the anti-"Space-Dye Vest" so to speak. "Far From Heaven" might have single potential given it's track length, but if it's a prelude to "Breaking All Illusions" for is a "Vacant"-style piano piece with limited instrumentation, it might not work so well. On the other hand, "Build Me Up, Break Me Down" and "This Is The Life" seem like good candidates for singles.
As for the 10+ minute songs, we haven't seen an album like this since Train Of Thought, and while I wasn't a fan before it was released, I'm sure tons of fans were excited to see 5 songs over 10 minutes long, but I'm still going to be wary of being TOO hyped up about it. I imagine the four songs on here will be very unique in of themselves, perhaps in the way that IAW had 4 "long" songs on that album (PMU, TTT, Metropolis, and LTL), and won't sound too similar or monotonous to each other.
