(…In fact, I’m not sure it’s even going to be allowed here.  It’s only vaguely related to DT… If not allowed, sorry, no harm meant, ignore me and lock this.  =D)

I’m been working on the outline of a fantasy novel for about a year now, but progress has been hindered by the fact that I am terrible at coming up with fantasy-ish names for my characters.  Today, while browsing the forums, I got an idea that will give me names – if not permanent ones, then at least working names I can use to begin writing.  So, here are some fantasy names I’ve come up with so far, based off DT stuff.

Acos: Named, obviously, after A Change of Seasons.  (haven’t decided on pronunciation.  Could be ‘ay-cose,’ ‘aw-cose,’ ‘ah-cose,’ or perhaps even pronounced like ‘Atticus’ without the ‘ti.’)

Itipoe & Itinog (twin brothers): Named after In The Presence of Enemies and In The Name of God, with i’s added because Itpoe and Itnog would be lame names.

Widadu: Named after When Dream and Day Unite, with an i added because I have no idea how I’d pronounce Wdadu.

Elsoad: Named after Lifting Shadows Off a Dream, with an e added because I have no idea how I’d pronounce Lsoad.  (I’m thinking it would be pronounced as three syllables – ‘el-so-ad’)

Lifaga: Named after Light Fuse and Get Away, with an i added for pronunciation.

Uagum: Named after Under a Glass Moon, with a u added for pronunciation.

Sefam: Named after Scenes from a Memory, with an e added for pronunciation.

Toden: Named after The Dark Eternal Night, with an o added.

Leatol: Named after LEArning TO Live.

Solish: Named after SOLItary SHell.

Aropa: Named after A Rite OF PAssage.

Cinaw: Named after Caught IN A Web.

Inofa: Named after INnOcence FAded.

Afil: Named after A Fortune In Lies.

Burmys: Named after BURning MY Soul

Mirsle: Named after the MIRacle and the SLEeper.

Timols: Named after The Ministry Of Lost Souls.

Talow: Named after The Answer Lies Within.

Betil: Named after BEyond ThIs Life.

Just thought I’d share them.  Like any?  Hate them all?  Think this topic is stupid?  Or maybe do you have an idea for some other DT related fantasy names?

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Tebot and Tecot, the twin children of Becasl  ::) (I expect Tebot to tell somewhere in the novel a tale of terror inspired by his brother's life)

Sedyev (slight russian feel on this) from KM's swan song

I almost have to do this.  And am embarrassed I didn't think of those two right away.  Thanks.  Sedyev is also cool.

I'm not sure I could do this without referring to the character as Doc Ock, so I'd better avoid it for copyright reasons.

Thanks guys!  I expected the first three posts to be calling me an idiot.

I have to stop before I end up derailing my own thread.

I really, really like Ambie.

Added more to OP, also.
