Simple yet under appreciated inventions.
« on: May 24, 2011, 10:07:56 PM »
So I was just thinking. I came to the conclusion that the broom is one of the greatest inventions of all time,of all time. For the first time, one could sweep there living space in an effort to keep clean. This lead to people living much healthier lives. What are some other really simple yet really under appreciated inventions?

Music.

Well I guess it's not that under appreciated.

Paper and pen. Can't live without them.

Was music ever really "invented?"

It was either invented or discovered at one point.

And I'd argue that we invented it. You could make arguments for other things, but then we'd just be arguing over the definition of music.

Wheels integrated into a suitcase. I remember the days when people lugged around suitcases that had nothing but a handle on top. The pain.

pain meds
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I'm not sure pain meds are either simple or under appreciated.

But to add to the list, bottles.
