That was an OK performance IMO, but the mixing was just... terrible. It didn't sound anywhere near as heavy as on the record.

Yep, voices not lodud enough, and the blending between guitars didn't sound quite right.

Yeah, I think the performance is fine enough, the mixing hurt the vocals.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

So I've finally gotten around to giving Once More 'Round The Sun some repeated listens.

One song that's really damn awesome and doesn't seem to be talked about much here is Halloween. The last minute and a half or so is just :metal

Speaking of MOTHERLOAD... literally and figuratively  :o

I love it. People in the metal community tend to almost always take everything far too seriously. I love both sides. If you're that hardcore 24/7 you need help. This is awesome  :metal

I guess it's meant to be funny ?

It reminds me of a poor version of Aphex Twin's hilarious Windowlicker video.

Maybe chicks dancing and twerking in front of some occult type imagery has some deeper meaning that we're missing? :P

Silverburst is so effing gorgeous.

A Silverburst Les Paul Custom is my #1 Dream Guitar.  :heart :heart :heart

<three

"Dream" guitars are like a neverending dream for me.  Lol.  I wanted a sunburst Fender Strat w/ tortoise shell pickguard, got that.  Realised I wanted a black Fender Am Std Tele with chrome pickguard, got that.  Now I want a Silverburst Fender P or J bass, here's hoping that dream comes true too :lol

Considering Mastodon's sense of humor, are you surprised?

Looks like they replaced Brent with Jeff Lynn.  :lol

Always good to see them on Letterman (surprised he's still doing the show, to be honest), but they must have picked the worst song possible for Brann, that chorus has to be painful to sing live.

When Brann feels like he doesen`t manage to hit the highest note on "things will work out" he should try to replace it with a lower note at live-performances. I`ve never heard him nail it, and I`ve seen a lot of bootlegs..
Beside from that note I think he does rather well. The verses are pretty much spot on.

So my sister sent me a £15 iTunes giftcard for Christmas and today I bought The Mastodon Remission Reissue :)

You can hear some things that were lost in the original album - like the pinch harmonics in the intro of Crusher Destroyer and the trills in the Intro to Mother Puncher have been bought out too :)

Actually i'm going to put both versions of Crusher Destroyer in Logic and A/B them to see how they sound back to back. :)

.. .The 2014 reissue definitely has more oomph to it !

I was a bit excited about that reissue but didn't bother since there was no new material added at all, disappointing.

That's pretty AWESOME! Troy always seems like such a very cool guy. In fact the all of the guys in Mastodon really seem like cool and fun people (Brent is sketchy as f... but still cool  )

So I just found out that Mastodon are going to be playing in my area in April.  I'm relatively certain that I'm going to go, but it would involve taking a day off from work, and the timing isn't great for that, so I just wanted to get some feedback first.  Are they pretty good live?
Sincerely,
Jaffa

That's great! Troy does a mean DLR impersonation vocally, minus the high shrieks!

To the farthest boundary of eternity
Where I, the Cosmic Sea
Watch the little ego floating in me.

Yet another Mastodon - side project.... Arcadea featuring 'don drummer/vocal Brann Dailor.

I swear Brann makes everything awesome. This really is different but sounds pretty amazing.  :tup  Check it out guys!
