Can't stop listening to the new album.

"Caustic Are The Ties That Bind" is my favorite track, which has a lot of Ascendancy's vibe.

"Inception of the End", "Built to Fall" and "Forsake Not The Dream" are really great tracks too.

Their best record to date. 10/10 :metal

Those are all the songs that really stood out for me too   :tup  I've found myself listening from built to fall to the end of the record this past week a lot.

I listened to some of the new album a few days ago.

Loved all of what I heard, dunno if i like it more than Ascendancy but I'll have to finish In Waves first.

Also I was never able to get into Shogun to be honest.

Damn, a lot of this album is so forgettable and mediocre. Fuck's sake, Trivium.

Album cover's nice though.

lmao

This entire album is incredibly catchy and recognizable, I have no idea where you're getting "forgettable" from

I fail to see why you're "laughing your ass off" at my opinion. 's pretty rude

Please bear in mind this is after 2 listens. A lot of the album struck me as forgettable, because I COULDN'T REMEMBER IT, it wasn't particularly memorable. For example, Drowning In Slow Motion, Black, etc. And A lot of the riffs on the album STILL strike me as mediocre. They're not particularly good, memorable or anything. I good example of this is the bridge riff to Watch the World Burn. And the melodies, for me, are predictable and not that catchy.

Got it today. I've only heard it 2 times, but so far, one of Trivium's finest works.
Special likes to "Dusk Dismantled", "Black, "Forsake Not The Dream" and "Of All These Yesterdays" and the good intro/interlude/outro moments.

Well for one thing, there's a lot of material to seep through on the deluxe version, 18 songs, that is. I guess I can understand what you're saying, but I was already humming along to the melodies on my 2nd listen. I find it a lot more "catchy" than Shogun, overall, although I still feel like Shogun is their best song.

Bought the album out today, though, loving it.

After listening to it about 3 times, I think, I really, really enjoying this album.  Pretty much every song is killer and the whole record is so consistent with some really great melodies.  I don't think it quite has the depth that Shogun did at this point, but they really nailed going for a more stripped back Ascendancy vibe.  Saying that, there is a lot of material here that will keep growing.  Caustic Ties is amazing.

HOLY JESUS SHITFUCK THAT SHOW WAS SO FUCKING AWESOME

It was a really small, intimate show. There couldn't have been more than 200 people there. But that was cool, because it made it seem more personal.

I recorded Down From The Sky and Pull Harder in their entirety, and 30-45 seconds of most of the other songs. I was going to upload them and post them here, but you can clearly hear me singing along like a fucking retard in every one. :lol By the third or fourth song my voice was completely strained from screaming/singing along.

But wow, that show was incredible. And I caught one of Corey's picks that he threw out into the crowd, so that was cool.

I listened to it before going to the concert, and again when I came back. It's too early to name favorites, but I love the album. I don't think it's better than Shogun, but it's damn good. Like Wolf said, it definitely gives off an Ascendency vibe and that's far from a bad thing.

And if you're a Trivium fan...you haven't lived until you've seen Dusk Dismantled live. And screamed the chorus with everyone around you until your voice becomes hoarse. Holy shit, that song crushed so hard.

:omg: Wow.. bought the album yesterday because I liked the single In Waves...

The album is amazing !!

really dark, thick and really good production.

Faves so far are definitely In Waves, Black, Watch The World Burn & Skyline Severance.

Can't get some of these songs out of my head.

Never really liked the band before but this album has changed my mind !

Is there a way for non-fans to find out what songs will be stickies on the Trivium set list to familiarize ourselves with it? It will probably make the show more enjoyable.

For a while, it wasn't certain if Trivium would be opening for all the DT dates or not, but that is for sure now. All the dates are posted on Trivium's page now for all who didn't already know that.  :)

Off the top of my head, here are the songs they played when I saw them:

In Waves
A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation
Built to Fall
Black
Dusk Dismantled
The Deceived
Suffocating Sight
Like Light to the Flies
Ember to Inferno
Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr
Down From the Sky

Throes of Perdition

I think I'm forgetting one or two. But, I bolded the songs that are likely to be played. Other possibilities include: Dying in Your Arms, Anthem (We Are the Fire), Entrance of the Conflagration, Into the Mouth of Hell We March.

And of course, any song off the new album is fair game as well.

The guitar tone on this album is simply phenomenal.

Also the best production and mix job i've heard in a long time.

Must be awesome for them knowing their new album sounds head and shoulders above Death Magnetic.

But this is a really nice sounding album. I've listened to it quite loud and I havent noticed any clipping.

Hopefully the trend is subsiding.
