Help lordxizor think of names for his unborn child.
« on: May 12, 2011, 08:09:10 AM »
My wife is due in July and we're having a heck of a time coming up with names we like. Especially for boys. We've got a girl covered, but if we have a boy, it'll be called "baby" for a while until we can come up with something.

We tend to like names that aren't super popular or trendy, but also aren't so weird that our kid would be the only one anyone has ever heard of with that name.

We're Scandanavian and German mostly, so I don't want an Irish or Italian or any other ethnicity that we aren't kind of name.

Help DTF! You're my only hope!

Landon is a cool name.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. I've always liked the old school names like Samuel or Jacob.

Jacob is actually the most popular boys name in the country right now.

How about Xavier?  Honestly, I only thought of it because I was trying to come up with something that started with the same letter is Xizor.  But I think it fits the criteria of being uncommon but not so much that it's totally out there.  I can only think of a couple of Xaviers I've known, and they were both cool guys.

I still love my son's name it's strong.

Lincoln (and we love how everyone has shortened it to Link)

if we'd had a girl it would have been Morgan.

i liked Landon mentioned earlier.

I'm not a big fan of my own name actually...and never use it. Nobody uses, everyone calls me by my last name.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.

First off, congrats!

Our daughter was born 2 weeks ago and we had a hard time finding a name for her. And it wasn't even an issue of my wife and I agreeing on a name. Even the names I suggested I didn't like much. Part of the problem is that most of the names I would have liked didn't sound good with our last name. An important consideration.

We had a list of 6 when we made the trip to the hospital. Before birth, we narrowed it to 3. After she was born, my wife said "she looks like a Kaia" so that is what we went with. We also wanted something less common, so know there is a fine line between picking something unique, and something totally obscure.

My brother really likes the name "Dean."  I'm not too fond of it but I'm just throwing it out there.

Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

I've never seen that spelling of it pronounced with the latino pronunciation.  That is usually spelled Javier.
