Woah, these results are very surprising.

I guess I should just pull the plug on my emotionless shell of an existence now.

Speaking of this, I once welled up when listening to "Angie" by the Stones.

Any sappy love song during breakups.  Chicago is not the right choice when your heart is broken.

I thought the only time you cried was that time a Budweiser truck jack knifed and flipped over.

I'd stand up and cheer if it was a Budweiser truck! :lol

I have, yes, but not always because the song is sad. In fact, that's rarely it; it's normally just when the song is particularly emotional, not necessarily sad. Sometimes I just get caught up in all of it and it hits me weirdly. I'm certainly not going to go into many specific songs, but 2:00 here has got me a couple of times, and hit me the hardest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S2G9VQhSI8 Also ignore the lyrics they sub in, I find it far more emotional as the wordless emotional outpouring that it probably is, the words seem forced and don't suit it.

Tl;dr: yes, but not just because a song is sad.

But on the flip side I love the Budweiser of coffee.  Dunkin' Donuts. I don't hate Bud, I just can find other beers that are just as refreshing with a little different flavor to it.  Ok, I'm a beer snob. :lol

Well back on topic.  I find it hard to listen to any music my mom listened too and it chokes me up.  Anything from Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline and Charlie Rich.

Patsy Cline is unreal.   A voice that soars and yet can be so heavy on the heart.

I shed some tears during the DVD filming of Sylvan's "Posthumous Silence", especially during slow songs featuring a cello. Still get watery eyes when listening to that album and watching the DVD. Great, great stuff.

She always played her when cleaning the house on Saturday mornings.

I have to come back to this thread and read it all.  Looks interesting.

I can think of two songs that have come really close for me.  Miles Away by Tesla gets me choked up everytime.  And once at a G3 show at the Kravis Center in West Palm.  The acoustics were unbelievable and Vai was playing For the Love of God.  I swear that guy had no clue where he was at one part of that song.  He was totally into it.  It was so beautiful that it made the hair stand up on my arms.  I cant remember if I cried, but if I didnt I know I got choked up.

That song made me tear up the first time i heard it too, but not this specific version.

things like that song remind me why i love DMB so much.

DMB has some great songs, "Grace Is Gone" is a tearjerker.

I actually was driving home and heard this Michael Kelsey song for the first time "Charade" and it almost brought a tear to my eyes. The live version he changes it up a lot changing the vibe.

They actually make some waaaay more serious/emotional stuff than people think. The bridge of Lie In Our Graves, with the building jam, is pretty emotional too, but in a really positive way.

Many different songs, by many different bands and artists.  Usually because of sadness, but sometimes out of sheer amazement at the awesomeness.  I love music, and nothing can move me like music does.  I let it.

I almost teared up during Sigur Rós' Untitled #8. Such an intense moment.

Also, the end of The Count Of Tuscany filled me up with emotions, mostly because, as Orbert stated, I was simply amazed at how awesome it was and how well it all came together.

I agree with this. I've lost a father myself so I could really relate to the lyrics. And the JP solo at the end was the icing on the cake.
