Have I? Yes. Will I tell you guys to which songs? Probably not.
This.

That's OK. I'll just automatically assume the songs were selections from the Backstreet Boys' greatest hits album.

.... how the hell did you know that???

Because it was the CD playing the first time we made love.

Remember when you put that condom on backwards? You silly goose.  :heart

-Neal Morse: One (album) - Such a beautifully told story.  Various parts of the album get me from time to time.

I made Bosk cry.  :hat

For me, there has been many times, but the significant one was the first time I listened to Ever by I.Q.  The album is an in depth and very personal look into the effects and emotional problems brought on by severe child hood abuse, and is definatly written by someone who knows these things firsthand.  As a survivor of such abuse, the album broke through many walls in my soul that had held fast and held me down for many years, and probably saved my life.

Mentioned in the thread, Rush's The Pass and DT's Disappear have both come close, such beautiful and emotional songs.

I have.

Simon and Garfunkel - "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her"

The combination of Garfunkel's voice, the story and the 12 string guitar + the live performance half-step tuned up that exceeds the studio album version = tears down emindead's eyes.

Not really, though when I first listened to Abbey Road the first day after the end of a (very stressful) drumline season, last month, I found myself (happily) misty-eyed (to an extent) to the tunes of Octopus's Garden and Here Comes The Sun.  Partly out of joy/relief of being done with an activity that I disliked/sucked at, and they are such beautiful compositions.   ;D

Also, when I was in 7th grade, I first listened to Bohemian Rhapsody, and found myself rather depressed afterward.  In fact, I still find it to be a downer of sorts, though it remains one of my favorite songs by them.  Weird.

I cried when I heard the song 'Signal to Noise' (Peter Gabriel) for the first time, because of the climax with the orchestra. That was one of the most intense things in music I ever heard up to that point. I keep on playing the song to get the same kick and emotional feeling out of it, but it cannot match the first time and I never cried again.

Another one was 'Since I've been Loving You' by Led Zeppelin, just on a random occasion. And 'House of Cards' by Radiohead, when I broke up with my girlfriend. The first line: 'I don't wanna be your friend, I just wanna be your lover'. A simple sentence, not much to it. But the way Thom Yorke it delivers just made me all watery.

The weird thing is that I've never cried to a song by one of my favorite bands like DT, Porcupine Tree, Devin Townsend, Opeth etc.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

I have but as in my eyes teared up. I think it was a few times at least. One song was Hey Joe by Hendrix back when I was new to it and new to the music world.

The only tears I've shed for music are epic tears. As in something is so awesome my eyes tear up. Never sad tears though.

Hooray for Tom by Bruce Hornsby, Girl From the North Country by the Eels, Tonight the World Dies by Avenged Sevenfold, and Broken Wings by Alter Bridge have all brought me close. Girl From the North Country especially, it's an incredibly powerful cover.

There's a few songs that have made me cry before, but the only song I can think of that has made me cry more than once is "Feel So Low" by Porcupine Tree.

Songs can make me feel sad but I don't cry because of them.

There is one exception to this. The intense amount of sadness of the song gets me every time. I never knew a song could be so emotional until I heard Pour Some Urine On Me.

Usually some Joanna Newsom can get me crying if I'm feeling blue.  Emily, Only Skin, Sawdust and Diamonds.  The last verse of Sawdust and Diamonds is a killer if you're afraid of dying.

I thought the only time you cried was that time a Budweiser truck jack knifed and flipped over.

I've often teared up while listening to some moving music, more often it's the music and not the lyrics though.
