Even though Mexican independence is actually Sept 16, in the great American tradition, we have bastardized another cultures holiday and made it our own. But considering the importance of the latino influence in America, they do deserve the honor. Gracias latinos y mexicanos para todo que hacen en nuestro pais.

(special thanks to scio for my Mexicanized avatar, it was iniitally done in preperation for what I thought was going to be a latino April 1 forum theme, and I just couldn't let his excellent work go to waste)

Going to a Mexican restaurant tonight. Thank God I don't feel like such an American douchebag because I know its in honor of a huge battle that the Mexicans won, rather than Mexican Independence Day.

I wouldn't say completely impervious. I was REALLY in no mood to get up this morning, but somehow I managed. I have a gig tonight though and REALLY don't plan on drinking, though by then I'll be up for having a few beers.

The mexican restaurant I went to was HORRIBLE. We waited 45 minutes for our food (understandable given the rush) but for that food to come out cold? I had Pollo con chorizo, which they microwaved and at least made edible, while the new cheese enchilada they gave me looked and tasted like it came out of a Stouffer's box or something. I told the manager and he offered me a t-shirt. I'm not going to endorse a business that has given me such a horrible experience! It was like they just forgot about our food for fifteen minutes. I'm going to have a second Cinco De Mayo celebration tonight to make up for it. Glad to see everyone else (especially Cozmo

) had a rad time though!
