Another DTF song ratings project?

So, for those who weren't around a year or two ago, I ran a little project getting as many people as possible to rate all of DT's songs, in order to come up with an overall ranking along with some other analysis. Here are the threads, for reference (both of them are archived so nobody can post in them now):

Now, I definitely intend to do the project again. I just can't decide between two options:

• Option 1 - Wait until the end of this year and do the project again including the new album.
• Option 2 - Do one now for the existing albums, and then again in, say, mid to late-2012 to include the new album.

I'm very much leaning towards option 2 because (a) it would give a nice update to what the opinions were back in 2009 for the same material, and (b) by waiting before I include the new album, it'll give it a chance to sink in.

Definitely option two.  It's more interesting.  You have the opinions of the group before the new album, which is interesting, and then you don't rate the new album until it's sunken in, which I think is very very crucial.

Option 2. Making a comparison and seeing how thoughts and opinion have changed in the past two years is a good idea. I wonder how "The Mike Shift" affected  the ratings of the most MPish songs...

Oh, and be sure to bring the standard deviation back. It is always good to see some higher-than-basic statistic applied to DT polls

Im not answering your question with this, but... what do you think about using an outside website that has software designed for rankings/ratings like this?

Edit:  my motivation in suggesting this is that it must be a bitch to manually compile possibly hundreds of people's rankings of ~100 songs.

Option 1 will be very misleading because the album might be a hit when people first hit and then slowly become kinda disappointing, or it'll sound kinda disappointing but eventually will sound way addictive. I was disappointed with BCSL for the most part at first and now I love it.

Option 2 sounds better, people may initially like/dislike the new album, but after a while they'll really begin to love it

Nah it really wasn't that hard to do last time, I had a template set up and an Excel spreadsheet.

I remember this project, definitely option 2. Can't wait!
